A fun and engaging way to teach geometry basics to young children. Colorful and appealing graphics lead kids through a series of puzzles as they try to rescue a village's dragon. There are hints available for each puzzle to support learners and a gated area for parents to explore. A great learning experience and good value!

Though I haven't tried it on a real child yet, looks to me as if they could make progress quickly and experience the shapes from many directions with enough drill to remember them. The graphics are cute and eye catching.

I just got this app. My 7 year old son sat down and played it for 2 hours straight and finished the whole thing! He loves the story/animations. The interface is great. The hints are very helpful. I liked how the game switches back and forth from outline to connecting the shapes in the correct way via a reference drawing. He is learning basic geometry, but it feels like he is playing a game. He would like to be able to view his achievements. More levels please!!!

It is a very good app but sticks at 'Dragon Heart' level and do not accept the correct combination (even through the hints). Payed for it and got my little buddy stuck and frustrated on a glitch. Fix it and it, please, and it will be worth 5 stars :) Other thing - I think the hints should load a bit slower for little cheaters. read out loud function would be useful, since the level is for non-fluent readers.

Dragon Shapes: Geometry Challenge is a great Tangram type game for preschoolers on up. There are 50 different levels to choose from, via an IAP that is secured with a press down button in the parent’s section. Design construction is essential for spatial awareness and having a sense of praxia...or motor planning. To be able to place parts to make a whole helps set up kids to understand how the world and relationships work and then synchronizing themselves as a part of it. Learning about shapes, their attributes and qualities from all points of view and orientation, generalizes into spatial thinking and makes great problem solvers. This app gives one, a great story line, two; engaging graphics, and three, the game play is fun.
