Doesn't work on 1st Gen iPad

First off, this "Dots" game is called "Circles" on my home screen, so I had a tough time finding it in the App Store so that I could review it. Why isn't it called "Dots"? Second, it doesn't seem to work on my 1st Gen iPad. No matter what order I tap the dots (1-2-3, 3-2-1, etc), it gives my a red "X" in the upper-right corner of the screen, and gives me a new puzzle. After three tries, I get a score of 6. So what am I doing wrong? And what does the number in the upper-left corner mean? Would it be so tough for the developer to put text labels by the "X" marks and that other number?? Overall, this game is more trouble than it is worth. One star.
