Why do app creators do this?

Unless app creators are just fine with dissatisfying their users just so they could get money out of them, I don't understand why app creators make the free version of their app so bad, their practically BEGGING you to get the somewhat decent paid for version. In other words, don't waste your gigabytes with this app.

Unlike some reviewers the app works great on my iPhone. Maybe they don't have the most recent OS? Anyway this is a very nice easy to use photo edit that lets you add pre-made doodles to photos. It would be nice though if more doodles were available in the free version.

After I pick a picture to doodle on I can't even get past the cropping because it shuts down on me! Lame!
