Dominate

Dominate is a logic puzzle that uses a standard 'double six' set of 28 dominoes. The puzzle board represents all of the 28 dominoes from 0:0 to 6:6 placed next to each other in a 7 by 8 grid. The problem is, you can't see which squares join to which others to form the dominoes.

Your task is find those links, by applying logic to determine a layout for the entire board such that each domino is used only once.

FEATURES:
+ Auto-generated boards
+ An almost limitless number of puzzles
+ Inbuilt solver provides hints and a target time to beat
+ Full tutorial to help you learn the game
+ Tracks your progress, keeping puzzles challenging
+ Pause the game to easily see your progress

TIMING & HINTS:
Dominate rates each puzzle it generates to give you a target time, the faster you are the higher your score. If you're stuck you can ask for a hint, but the better you get, the more hints will cost you.

If all you want to do is solve puzzles and you don't care how long it takes, that's cool, you will still be able take advantage of the virtually limitless number of puzzles in the game.

Terrific game, very addictive
Dem42

I enjoy the game very much. I would appreciate having the ability to disable the hint function - or at least relocate it - so I don’t accidentally tap it when trying to undo/redo. It would also be very nice if the developer would share the method by which scores and rankings are calculated.

Instant classic

The rules are simple, but there is much strategy under the surface. Although the game looks like dominos, the thinking needed to solve it is similar to that in sudoku. The tutorial is good, but the hints are an even better way to learn because they come just when you need them. Each new version has been better than the previous one. The latest version adds a better point assignment system; previous updates made the interface much nicer. This should be considered one of the all-time great computer games. It is too bad it is only on iOS.

I want 5000
shortyduwaaap

Wish there was more logic behind the score. The closer to “perfect” you get the closer to 5000 you get. I’ve gotten 4999 a bunch of times by solving the 4 - 8 hr targets in 2 or 3 minutes. I gave up when I solved a 64 hr puzzle in 2 minutes and 45 seconds and still got a 4999. ?

Relocate or have opt. to eliminate hint function

Love the game, am at level 33 and I still hit the hint function by accident when going back. Please, please, please, move it over to the pause location. Would rather hit pause than hint. Thanks for a great game!

Looks simple but quite challenging
MegaritzMom

In this game, it looks quite simple, but it’s not; it’s quite challenging. All 28 dominoes have been placed in a 7x7 square grid, but you can’t see the edges of the individual dominoes, so you can’t tell which two numbers go on a single domino. It’s your job to figure out where each individual domino is. The logic is much like Sudoku. It’s I’d give it 5 stars if its hints included help with where you have made mistakes. It looked like some hints were wrong, but that might have been a result of my having made prior mistakes. It also needs some way to help you track when you’ve narrowed down the possibilities.

Better than Sudoku!
dandbj13

Unless I miss my guess, this puzzle can be solved by logic. Guesswork is not required. With Sudoku, there is always a point where one has to guess. I find this puzzle to be both challenging and stimulating with endless replay value. The fifth star will come when graphics get a little better. In particular. There needs to be more visual distinction between the solved dominos so that the lines are obvious at a glance. Keep up the good work.

Waste of money

Keep ur money. This game is total crap.

I like it but...
Carlos-CAD

...It needs a better approach to highlight the linked tiles. Right now it's too subtle (at least for me) and it is very frustrating. Linked tiles have are covered by a transparent gray color and outlined with a dark blue. The combination of two dark colors makes it really hard to quickly read the game. This is an urgent fix/improvement and I'll surely update my review if something is done. Other than that this game is a nice logic one with a very polished interface.

Almost, but not quite a great game. Not really playable in the current state
MrMLK

This game is good. Its a good idea wrapped i good graphics surrounded by a great hint system. Unfortunately, it has a fatal flaw that keeps it from being great, and actually makes it not so playable. The object of the game is to take the 56 squares on the board and turn them into 28 dominoes (0:0 to 6:6). You do this by making pairs of squares into dominoes, and by tagging borders that are not possible matches. The problem is that the program does very little to show you which moves you have made. All it does is gret out the select and take the thin line around the two squares and make it ever so slightly (perhaps one pixel) thicker. So if you have any upper left corner that looks like: [6][3] [1][2] it is almost impossible see if you have selected the 6-3 and 1-2 or 6-1 and 3-2. This makes the game almost unplayable since knowing what moves you have made is critical to completeing the game. The same thing happens when you have put a block between two squares. Because the block line looks more or less like the unbock line, it is hard to look at the board to see what you have blocked. Its fustrating, because if the developer had just made the blocks and border lines a different color, there would be no problem telling. As it stands, I don't play the game any more because there is just too much squinting trying to figure out what's been done on the board. And while I am at it, if the developer wants to make this program even better, how about adding a save-state/restore-state ability to the game. That way it would be easier to try something out and then unwind to your current position. I would be glad to update my review if the developer comes out with a new version that addresses my first issue.
