I only gave it three stars because the controls work. Shoot 'em up 101 - you should be able to see what is going on. It should be exciting to look at and the enemies clear against the background. The colors should have good contrast so you can tell what is coming at you, never mind interesting worlds whizzing by to look at exciting noises and explosions. This has none of that. This is hard to see and half of the stuff coming at you looks like an outline. You can shoot easily. But really to get me to pay $11 for the full I want nice graphics, not ones that are hard to see what is happening.

This is probably my least favorite cave game ever made. I'll explain why. It lacks any real attention to detail in a "cyber space" there's nothing but redundant bland images even bosses and enemies look like cheap unfinished game graphics. While the game has awesome music and sound good controls. I just really wish they kept the way the originals were with actual cities and real things to enjoy graphically for it's price it's mediocre at best. You're better off at checking out blissful death or resurrection if you want a good dodonpachi personally I even recommend all the other cave titles making this one the last one if you buy them all. 2/5 for it's lack of any real substance and boring visuals.
A taste of the awesome full version, prices too high

You get to play the first level on this to see how it will go, it's very cool like other cave shooters. I wish they had "scratch" bonus like some other games like this. All of the cave titles are priced twice what you'd want to pay, but they are great!
