I love the game but I have recently noticed that I will play a level and have 3 lives and if I lose the game then it says I have 0 so I want to know where lives 1 and 2 went

A lot of reviews mention that you have to pay up to get through levels or win special challenges, but I haven’t had the same experience. I started playing about 3 months ago and I’m at level 670 without spending a penny. I’ve definitely been stuck on the same level for over 10 plays, but I just see it as a challenge to make all the perfect moves and analyze the board to see exactly what I need to focus on. (Sometimes there are obstacles that you don’t necessarily need to clear - just a distraction.) I’ve also won several challenges since I’ve gotten the hang of the game. It definitely takes some persistence and dedication. And you need to understand how the costume levels work and can work to your advantage. I actually like that it takes 30 mins to refresh a life because it limits my game playing. It gets addicting so the lack of lives force me to stop playing. My only minor complaint is that the storylines are boring. I agree with another reviewer that the “hero” is lame and the building of towns or completion of tasks is tedious. I would prefer a button that fast-forwards through all tasks while using your available stars. (But now I just save them all and let my kid watch and help pick decor every so often.) But overall, this game is fun and a good time-killer. It makes me use my brain a bit more which is nice.

Cute graphics, reasonably challenging game which was great fun at first. Rewards are extremely stingy - so much so that it isn't worth it to try to achieve them. That is truly disappointing.

Cute and fun to play. Please don't make rewarded time expire when not playing the game. There should be more things to purchase with coins.
