Pretty good

JR Fuller

I have tried a few diabetes apps now. This one is pretty good although quite rigid. I would like to see a "0" or skipped / missed / NA applicable status for both meds and meals sometimes I don't eat a snack, sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't need insulin - sometimes I do. Additionally, report log rewrites every week so either automatically send me the report or give me the ability to selected a long timeframe (30, 90 days). It would be a great think if it would link to MyFitnessPal for my calories / carbs so I don't have to enter it twice. Additionally, once 90 days has been collected it would be a great analytic if it could estimate my A1C (recognizing it's just an estimate). Overall, good app and I will continue to use.

Would it hurt to be more truthful?

I was searching for a management app that would let me decide what carb levels I wanted to attain, per the newer research that a lower carb (KETO etc) medium protein, higher fat protocol was better for diabetes management. There was nothing in the description to say whether or not I could set my macronutrients. Got it installed and it immediately determines I need hundreds of calories in carb, waaaaay more than I am used to now. There was no way to dial it down to a more appropriate 5-10% of calories as carb, or medium percentage of protein. It just says bam! 50+ grams of carbs at breakfast, lunch, etc for the day. Furthermore, it is not current with the research now in regards to the need for higher levels of fat and lower levels of carbs - so the red/yellow/green codes for foods to avoid, foods in moderation, and foods to enjoy are rather scrambled up (like butter and coconut is bad, etc. onions were good, etc.). Oh, and in the list of foods, they had a listing for "Dal" which is lentils - very common in India cooking. I thought cool, lets see what they have to say about it!? But, they have a photo of an Avocado! Not cool!! So I am deleting the app. It's not what I am looking for and I would not have bothered to download if the specific descriptions had been more accurate.

What? I can do all that?

Wow I love this app! I can't believe how much I can get done with one app. I have type 2 Diabetics and have a serious stubborn streak when working with apps. I want them easy to use and have what I need. This one does and more than I expected. It's a keeper. It would get 5 stars but the bar scanner doesn't work on my iPhone 7 and I hate the wheel I have to use to enter my glucose reading. Let me punch in three numbers and be done with it.

This app is an excellent tool for calculating carbs for diabetic meals. Thank you.

App

Is okay to keep a record of the sugar. I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I wanted an app to help me out. This comes pretty close but needs improvement with carbs and vegetables reviews but overall it's very good

Like the app 2 complaints

Geno12956

Love this app. Since I learned I was diabetic I have tried several and this one seems the easiest. My one complaint is that the bar code scan function on it doesn't work and I spend a better part of my day inputting nutrition facts. I also wish there was a way to creat my own recipe and have it tell me the nutrition facts for it. I also wish it synced with my IPhone so that in my health watch app would update as well.

Stopped updating on 3/12/17

App stopped updating today for some reason. Have not been able to input any information since Saturday 3/11/17. Have not been able to use the scanner to input any packaged foods for over a week. Did you guys just give up and move on to something else? Review updated in June and the app is still inconsistent. Custom food that I enter are not there the next time I look. Foods I enter one day are gone the next. Scanner has not worked for quite a while. Sad - when I first got the app, I really liked it. Tired of the inconsistent performance. Good-bye!

Minor flaws, maybe needs an update.

In game crashes

Just started using. I mainly use it to track my carb intake, I recently discovered I have gestational diabetes and I'd like to be diet controlled rather than insulin controlled. Anyway, I like this application. I'm giving it 4 stars right now because the camera function to scan your barcode on foods doesn't work. Why is it an option if it doesn't function?

Good app but........

I can only give this app a three star review because the scanner is not working. I have to manually put in all the information from the foods I eat. I hope this will be fixed soon.

Great App

Justfor me

I had searched. since I went on insulin several years ago, for a digital journal where I can log what I eat, my insulin dosage, and exercise along with tracking my progress with weight loss, reducing my insulin dosage, and so on. I just got my first iPhone, found this app, setup my account, loaded my info, and started logging my daily food intake and insulin usage all in one place. Needless to say, I'm delighted.
