Terrible and boring

Rise15255

The entire game is essentially going one of four directions, fighting an enemy or trying for a treasure chest, but both of those involve *ONLY* your ability to hit a status bar with a thing moving across it. You either hit, miss, or critical hit. So the entire "dungeon crawl" is about how good you are at timing your tap on this bar. That. Is. It. Developers, what were you thinking? I want my money back. Calling this a dungeon crawl provokes images of nethack, one of the most thoroughly thought out games ever. Using that name to describe this is just shameful.

Worst Game Ever

Wow! This game isn't worth 1.99 It's not even worth .99 Its like the stupidest game I have on my iPhone. PEOPLE listen to me and the other guy, DONT BUY IT!!!

NetHack fans, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I am a huge fan of dungeon crawlers. I even like them to be uneven in parts, to keep me on my toes. But the attack mechanic in this game is beyond ridiculous, and about the most violently uneven thing I believe I have ever seen in a game. The slider moves faster than you can perceive on certain enemies and chests. I am not exaggerating. That is not an enjoyable challenge. In NetHack your survival depends 90% on the decisions you make and 10% on luck. In this half assed crawler it depends on how well you can time button presses that have a nanosecond window with zero margin of error. It is manageable with certain weapons. But you want to use a lance? Forget about it. You had better be a Japanese kid who can play DJ Hero with his eyes closed before you even attempt it. And instant death? NetHack is known for those moments. The devious traps, cursed fountains spewing water moccasins, overpowering beasts. All horrible deaths that the canny player can avoid or overcome. And all fitting for the game's dungeon atmosphere. But Deep Deep Dungeon has no concept of this. After slaying a small army of ogres, taking minimal damage even from their criticals, you may well be laid low by the critical of a mutant vegetable. 9999 damage, no warning, no avoiding, no sense. It's that kind of JRPG logic that ruins this game. On a positive note this game looks good, has a sleek interface and catchy music that invokes memories of Shadowgate. Beyond that it is repetitive, devoid of any meaningful decision making, and uneven in a very unreasonable way. I would recommend Pokemon Mystery Dungeon before this stinker of a dungeon crawl.

Interesting

Ultimately it was average length. There is a time sink aspect however, with the different dungeons and weapons it didn't feel as repetitive as it could have. I would consider replay value low. Additions or new challenges may boost this.

fun for 20 minutes

AaronSc

Nice art, but it's really light on the gameplay.

Great game

Dark Jak92

But it has so much more potential. Classes, more weapons, more armor, more items, and one more type of chest. Make it longer as well. Right now it's great, but it could be amazing.

Polished but lacking the oomph

BigJohnson911

So close to being an amazing game. Give us more options to kill things. Please get rid of the one hit kill enemies, that's just poor design.

Horribly boring

ShinyJabberwocky

The game is okay...for about 10 minutes. It goes downhill from there. I'm not sure how this game has an overall rating of four stars...
