Remember that loud sounds can be harmful:
150 dB causes eardrum rupture
130 dB is the noise of a gunshot (close range)
120 dB is the human pain threshold
110 dB may cause serious hearing damage if sustained for longer than 1 hour
100 dB may cause serious hearing damage if sustained for longer than 8 hours
80 dB may cause hearing damage if sustained longer than 8 hours
60 dB is the volume of a typical conversation
50 dB is the volume of a quiet conversation
40 dB is a whisper
20 dB is the threshold of human hearing
The app is based on the current calculations to determine the sound pressure level in dB. Although we have tested the values with professional equipment, we can't ensure the absolute correctness by international standard.

It doesn't accurately display sound levels. For example, there was no sound and the meter constantly read different readings between 35-65 dB. And when I talked quietly it measured between 57-83db. Not helpful.

It provides a simple way to measure sound volume in your environment, accurate and extremely convenient with intuitive interface. The application is very sensitive, very useful for testing speakers. The screen looks nothing like on the App Store. And there is only a single screen. There is no menu. The "Max" display cannot be reset. It apparently displays the loudest sound it has ever heard!
