No option to restore contents purchased without purchasing update

I originally purchased this app in 2008. I've periodically updated but I chose not to get updates annually due to cost. I was able to continue to use the content I purchased until my device (iPhone 6) recently crashed, which required going back to default settings. As a result, I lost all the content in this App. When I chose the 'restore' option in the App, it said "unable to restore, not an in app purchase" The only other option In the app was to renew to updated version. I called customer service for help but unfortunately, I was told, there was no way to restore the content I purchased without updating to current version. The app says purchased content is accessible even when you don't update. Extremely disappointing, obviously a misleading statement by the developer. A $39.99 annual update is quite exorbitant, it's like buying your book over and over again every year, The Updates cost as much as the original purchase! Why can't updates/ subscription be cheaper?

Couldn't be happier. I came up in my nursing career using a Davis Drug Guide, and bought a new one every time another edition was printed. With the rapidly changing landscape of biologic drugs for RA and other immune mediated diseases, there's no other way to stay current without having updates automatically sent to the one piece of equipment you never leave home without. Highly recommend this app, and don't stop with the preview meds, go for the complete manual.

Over the weekend I had severe problems activating my subscription. The support staff responded today and it seems all problems are cleared up. Good app!

I purchased this app for $40 and now when my operating system with apple just updated, the app quit working. The developers told me that they are not going to be updating the app and the only solution is for me to purchase the app again. No thank you. So unless you want to keep buying this whenever your OS updates, don’t get it.
Older versions of Davis Drug Guide can be made iOS 11 compatible

Unbound customer service showed me how to re-download my original 2015 Davis Drug Guide so that I could use it with iOS 11. I was not able to use it after upgrading to iOS 11. “You can re-download the 2015 app by opening the App Store, selecting “Updates,” clicking on the circle in the top-right corner, and then selecting “Purchased.” From this list, you can re-download “Davis’s Drug Guide 2015.” As long as you are logged in with the same Apple ID, iTunes will not charge you twice for applications that have already been purchased.” I first deleted the original Davis Drug Guide app, the re-downloaded the app again using the steps outlined above. Hopefully this will help someone out there having same issue...

I had the old version of the drug guide which didn’t work with the new iOS. I received instructions from this company on how to download the latest version that would immediately, and they resolved the issue in less than 24 hours. This is a great app. I’m a nurse and I love to be able to check unfamiliar meds and potential side effects quickly. This is my go-to app at work and very user friendly. Highly recommend it!
