Giving the usage that you have remaining or have used (there should be the option), so you have to open the app. I can open the Verizon app too. This does not help....

Woefully inaccurate

My data usage this month has been 31 GB, however the app is only reporting 8.1 GB. Both iOS and Verizon are reporting the same amount of data used (31 GB). App performed poorly last month, too. Background refresh is enabled. Plan cycle dates are set correctly in the app.
