Cant unlock Mage class

OvalEclipse

Good luck getting the required class for end game, the game refuses to spawn the required mini boss to unlock it.

Lots of promise, lacks meaningful strategy

First off - this game has done a lot of things right - the new maps, the path selections, the crafting, artwork, in-map vendors, etc. Those are all awesome additions to the game. Here’s my gripe: One of the things I loved about the first game was being able to really define your build and playstyle to suit the different stages of the game (ie: being able to run a speed build for quick farming to get to the next weapon tier versus building to get as far as possible on a run at a slower pace). You were constantly making decisions that dramatically changes the gameplay mechanics - ie: building a fire spell build versus a charge attack build). I’m only a couple hours into the game, but as of right now, that element seems to be missing entirely, making this game a lot closer to a mindless clicker game than the first one... you progress through the game, but you don’t feel like you are actually guiding the progress in any meaningful way. You equip the best drops from you previous run, sell your old inventory and click the only upgrades available, then rinse and repeat... each time making it a bit further than the last run, but ultimately each player out there is playing the same exact progression with very little variance. After a couple of hours into this game I haven’t been given a meaningful decision in my build - ie: do I buy spell X or save up for spell Y? Do I upgrade spell Y or buy a new weapon? Do I buy this sword with high strength or do I go with one that lets me complete runs faster. You get the idea - there are simply less meaningful choices in this game so far. Perhaps that feeling of carefully building for a specific playstyle exists later in the game, but as of right now, I’m a hour or two away from walking away from the game after putting hundreds of hours of the first one because it just feels boring without this stuff. By the third or fourth run in the first game, you were already making choices that had a meaningful impact on your play style. I’m hours into this game and I still don’t feel like I’ve done anything but click the obvious upgrade options and grind a bit further. I sincerely hope the devs can make some adjustments - there’s been an obviously large amount of work on this game and it looks and plays really really nicely (there’s a TON that I love about this game that didn’t happen in the first), but without a real sense of choice during the progression (speed builds vs charge builds vs spell builds), it just feels like another boring click progression game. Ps - the loot box inclusion is mildly obnoxious as well. I get it - you’ve gotta make a living and you deserve that.... in fact, I wouldn’t mind it so much if I felt like I were getting decent gear during runs and could pay a one time fee for double coins or double xp or something to contribute to the dev - but being constantly reminded of how slow the progression on this game is by offering me loot boxes and timed EXP bonuses feels pretty stale in comparison with how slick and addictive this all felt on the first game. Case in point: you could make serious progress in the first game without ever paying for anything more than the double exp thing because progression was fun as hell. In this game, payment feels required to make the progression bearable.

THE GOOD I’m liking the game so far! It feels like the previous game was the arcade version, and this is the GameBoy Advanced version: better graphics, more things to do, and added mechanics. I like having so many things to do. Basically taking the mini games, and expanding on them. This one is hard, because I like the mini games, but you’ve made them closer to a pay wall just to enjoy them, I’m not a fan of that. I believe the latest update fixed the shield....but to me the shield is working well. The moments when you have two enemies attacking you at a time really makes shielding effectiveness drop, and the little items you normally get hardly heal you at all, making the pull to use your gems on potions high, all going towards wanting to convince you to buy into the micro transactions. This part of the review is a good/bad take. I don’t have a qualm with the shield, but it leads into the larger festering issue with the game. —— WHAT I DON’T LIKE The reason for my 4 stars is because I’m not loving the lane switching, and the lack of balancing between difficulty with payout. While I don’t mind the increased difficulty, the amount of gold, and xp you get doesn’t really make up for how little distance you can go. With difficulty being harder, the pull to use your gems becomes greater as well, which makes the monetization seem a little more predatory, and I am NOT a fan of this. Lane switching. It was inevitable, and honestly not a bad move by the developers, but there are times I want to switch lanes quickly, and the game will think I’m defending/attacking instead. —— All in all, I’m okay and happy. As I haven’t gone far, there’s more to experience, and I will leave another review after I’ve Prestige’d, or done this games equivalent.

Amazing

I love the loot system (Randomized.. unlike Destiny 2 -.-). If you get crap, scrap it, forge the scrap into more loot for another attempt! I’ve given $11 so far, not to pay to win (scrapped the sword i got for it actually) but just to support the game. High hopes!

Wont get past character creation.

A bum in a suit

This looked like a fun game but sadly I cant even get past character creation.it says server issues please restart the game. Downloaded it and waited a day in case it was maintenance. But still cant play it so cant give a definitive answer just writing this to bring it to attention. So that hopefully i can give this game a try.

There’s some problems but overall good!

Tsuica

I really like the game, it plays well and i enjoy the leveling and the balanced items. My only concern is that some of the quests don’t work, like in the case of the “mysterious book” quest. Additionally some of the time the boss battles will lose the ability to be hurt, or your hero will freeze on the screen and lose their weapon. A little irksome but other than that it’s a pretty fun game!

Buggy AF

Rippenbiest

Crashes frequently, meaning all the items you've collected that run disappear, even if it's from the boss who will never be back. Save yourself the frustration.
