It’s not what you think. Hardly worth the setup effort.

I’m all about smart homes and I have several smart devices in my house. I recently got a sweet Danby air conditioner from Costco, and the packaging had an ad for this app. Neat, right? Nope. The app is slow and clunky. When I tried to sign up for an account, I was put in a cyclical signup journey where I was never sent a verification code to complete my account. Magically, I was still able to log in after a few more attempts. On first start up the app worked well. It quickly turned on the device and I could set up my preferences for the unit. However, a week later, everything changed. I’m constantly logged out of the app because of an in-app error (none of my other smart home apps log me out, and I have very stable internet). Sometimes it takes minutes for the app to connect to my air conditioning unit—which results in me just modifying my setting on the unit itself. Worse of all, the app rarely executes my set schedules. In fact, I’m convinced if you make more than two modifications to a saved schedule, it will break it. Now, I have an app that works occasionally. The schedules are broken. The app is clunky. And I have the constantly re-enter my credentials as I’m logged out on a weekly basis. I’d much rather you guys just work with the smart life or with another IFFT app.

How do I connect to Google Home? Says it’s voice capable but I am not finding it anywhere.

Such a horrible app. Will not buy another Danby Ac because of it

Bought the AC because on the box it states it will work with google home or Alexa. That’s a lie there’s no option to link with google home or Alexa. In addition to that the app will randomly log you out. Judging by some of the reviews doesn’t seem like Danby cares because months later the same issues with the app are there.

This app is terrible. The temp monitoring is terrible and the schedules don’t work. It worked for about 2 weeks before it just stopped. The AC works great but the app is just terrible

Takes for-ev-er for the app to “connect” to the Danby servers. Lots of time out issues (both on and off WiFi). Lots of disconnect errors that force you to re-enter your password again. Literally the worst app design I’ve seen to date. The AC unit is trash to. I bought it at Costco so I’ll be returning it come October. Avoid like the plague!!!

Is this app just not working for anyone else? Keeps saying my device is offline on the app so I can’t use it at all and I can’t find the instructions on how to reconnect it as a new device because my ac is one that doesn’t have the wlan button the app instructions tell you to use
