It's actually very random, the goal is to take the whole board. It reminds me of an intense version of lights out.
The game is fun, reminds me of that Microscope puzzle from The 7th Guest - or Atax (Aquataxx is a free source) for those who aren't familiar with that game. You have to expand your cells in order to capture the opponent's. But as the 1st reviewer said, it's pretty "random" - whenever a cell is ready to expand (that's what is random: you'll never know when, or once you get 4 cells in a single space) you click it and then it will start expanding, devouring the smaller quantity adjacent cells. Sometime you can manage to win in later game with only 1 or 2 spaces (definately not like Reversi/Othello and alikes that you know when you are through..). It misses a few features such as difficult settings and high scores (like a timed mode or number of moves and cells in the board), but has different board sizes and you can play against bot or a human player. Once you get past the strange rules, you'll have some fun with it. Price is good but it falls short.
This game is very engaging, it's not random at all. Cultures on a side explode at three, cultures in a corner at two, and everywhere else at four. The carry over is whatever number the space would explode at. ... It's very very fun but it lacks a building sense of accomplishment as you win games... A point system... High score list... Level system maybe with varying sizes of board... All would be welcome features. I like this game a lot but I'd still like to see some improvements for my three bucks before I'll be totally satisfied.
Overall amazing game. I just wish it could connect to other players online such as your friends, a random stranger, a random person based on your skill level, and possibly a tournament styled option for this online play.
