Crostix, the online library of acrostic puzzles, is now available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It includes 150 puzzles, from easy to fiendishly hard, and you can buy more puzzles right in the application. For free sample puzzles, download the aptly-named Crostix Free.
The program has all the features you'd expect:
- get hints for a single letter or an entire word,
- see your score, based on how many hints you needed,
- change the font size by pinching,
- rotate the device as you like, and
- get help on all program options.
If you're new to the world of acrostics, the application also includes a short description to get you started. More tutorials about acrostics are available on our Web site!

One of the few I’ll actually pay for which says a lot. I’ve always loved this kind of puzzle. I’d love it it started with some “free” letters on the puzzle to get you started but all in all I really enjoy playing.
Great app but no updates for several years!
deserves no stars at all
I love this app, but there have been no new puzzles for several years. It's easy to use and most of the puzzles are information and fun to solve. I like the more complicated puzzles, not the gag lines. However, the Sherlock Holmes puzzles are extremely difficult. I exhausted the Mumford puzzles quite a while ago, which makes the current version of the app worthless. PLEASE add more puzzles soon!

Well worth playing for the full version. It contains enough puzzles to keep you entertained for a long time. A very small number of the clues have answers that are region-specific & unfamiliar to a lot of people, but that's the fun of acrostics — you can work backwards to figure out the answer. The split-screen layout is adjustable, and it's so easy to keep track of where you are within both the clue and the quote. I truly love this app!

This is a really great app, with puzzles divided into easy, medium, difficult and fiendish. I have downloaded 6 packs, and have run out! Please make more!

I have worked through all of the Books, Headlines, Aerocrostics and am now sinking into depression because there are no more to be had. Seriously. Please tell me there will be more to buy and download soon.

I absolutely love Acrostics/Crostics!!! These are the most creative I have encountered on line and the most challenging. I could play for hours!

The price was a bit off-putting, but I consider it 4 bucks well spent. I even bought the additional books. Am now waiting on the next addition. Hurry up guys! :)
