“Early initiation of CPR by bystanders significantly improves survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest [1]…” After calling 911, use CPR Alert to initiate a CPR request. Nearby CPR certified individuals who use the app will be notified and hopefully arrive early to provide CPR assistance. “… It must be started within 4-6 minutes from the time of collapse and must be followed within 10-12 minutes of the collapse by advanced life support in order to be effective [1].”
Note: CPR responders must leave the app running in the foreground or background in order to receive alerts. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

An app that can save lives

This is a terrific application, I am CPR certified and this app enables me to be a responder when CPR needs to be performed on someone who is within a mile of my location. I tried loading this app on two different iPhones, creating a CPR request on one, and responding to it immediately on the other. I was amazed at how the request created a push notification on my phone almost immediately, and with 2 taps I had the Map application open showing me directions to the request. This is the kind of lifesaving application you expect from a startup, so the fact that a single person made this really speaks to their creativity and desire to build something with real-world significance. I am honored to be a CPR responder on this app!

There are many apps out there that you don't realize you need until you witness a need for them and this is one of those apps! Unfortunately heart attacks are one of those things that strike without warning and require specific medical attention which isn't always accessible in a timely manner. With this app, I can definitely see faster response time and treatment in the most vital moments. Just downloading the app, it is evident that the idea and developer behind the app are genuine. This user interface is clean and can be easily used by all. This is a definite must have!
