I've been trying to teach my 6 year old to count money with no success. Of course an iPad app would be the trick. ;-) He was counting change with no difficulty within 10 minutes. Not sure if the app is brilliant or it was just the novelty of the iPad that did it, but it works.
My daughter loves to play with this app. I am thrilled too because she is learning to count money. This app is very well designed.
I think that on this app you should be able to take whatever coins you want and then let your child enter in how much it equals.
This is a great app for counting money! In fact I see teachers using this app a lot. Only wish coin name and value were said or showed. But for children that know this and need to make exact amounts with change this is your app;)
Your counting app is fabulous. Even without the coins showing their value you have provided the option to turn on the cumulative amounts when adding or deleting coins to come up with the total value for that session. What I particularly enjoy is the ability for my children to view various ways that fifty-two cents can be created (two quarters plus two pennies; one quarter plus two dimes, one nickel and two pennies; four dimes plus two nickels and two pennies, even fifty-two pennies, etc.) Looking forward to more.
Great app. A good feature you could add in a future update is to have subtracting not only adding.
This would be more realistic and helpful to kids if user could move the money into piles.
