Nice

Very nice to have access. Would like to see that it has an easy way of saving them to Evernote or some other file for your recipe library

Light is right - light on features

At least with a physical magazine I can scan a recipe. A digital magazine that offers no way to move a recipe into my personal recipe book without typing is worthless. Just worthless.

Great Magazine, Terrible App

Willnevada

CL has terrific recipes. Every issue has something useful. The iPhone app is inconsistent with the CL brand and I'm cancelling the subscription. An iPhone subscription doesn't transfer to your iPad. No way to bookmark, save or print a recipe. So the app is functionally useless for use as a cooking aid. Disappointing.

Frustrating--needs much improvement!

I have many problems with this app. First, there's no link between the table of contents and the articles. There's a way to fast forward through the magazine using a slider bar but page numbers don't show, only a miniature copy of each page! So the reader has no idea where to stop for a particular article or page number. There's a way to star favorites but these favorites don't show up from one device to another. I recently purchased a new iPad and I lost my favorites. There doesn't seem to be a way to save a recipe, just the entire article, which may have five or fifteen recipes. My only option is to take a screen shot if I want to access one particular recipe. Doesn't seem to be a way to email or print a page or create bookmarks. When sliding pages, if I accidentally touch (selecting) an advertisement page, I'm automatically into a web link. Basically, the only way the app is better than the paper copy is that I can store issues in a smaller space, making them more portable.

Only provides an ebook

I may as well just scan my magazine as a PDF and call it a day. I expected more from this - like the ability to pull up a recipe card. Instead, I got minuscule font on my phone. Perhaps I would appreciate it more on a tablet.

Useless app

I can not figure out how to save recipes I find in the digital edition. And I am unable to email customer support to ask (I keep getting a message to "Select Device" even though I repeatedly have done so.) Is there a way to save recipes??

Off to a very bad start

I recently subscribed to CL magazine and one of the selling point is "instant access" to the digital magazine. After several attempts over a few days I was still unable to activate my online access. I finally called customer service and they told me the online access would not begin for eight weeks when my first issue is mailed! I wasted way too much time due to the misleading marketing. I know this review does not rate the app, but hope it saves another subscriber some frustration and time.

Too thumbs down

The app simply lets you view the magazine as it is printed. I couldn't even turn it to landscape in order to view some of the pages more easily. I'll just wait for my printed magazine. I'll delete the app to save space on my phone. It was also somewhat confusing to login. I had to do it twice.

Like the recipes

I have really enjoyed the recipes. However, I have to page through digitally for the recipe I want. Also, I can't print out a copy of the recipe either. How am I supposed to remember the issue and page of each recipe to use them again? How about a "Save" or "Favorites". The app needs improvement. Then, I will smile.

Bad app

Horrible app, great magazine. Need to be able to mark a recipe and print it.
