Only educates to finish game

Rolette Family Account

My 4yo daughter enjoyed the mini games. However, from a parent perspective, I found this game less than educational and a bit disturbing in its addictive nature by prompting the child to continue playing more mini games in order for Cookie Monster to receive his cookie. If your child has a hard time walking away from incomplete projects, this is not a game I would recommend. At the of each mini game series, which are also under duress of a timer, a piece of a Rube Goldberg-style contraption is added so that Cookie Monster can finally get his cookie. In order to do that the toddler must work through increasingly challenging mini games, however each game is the same, just with an added step.

Very misstated size

You need to know that there is a vast difference in size between what the app says the size is and the actual download storage required. The app says it is 86.5 MB, but it is HUGE memory hog at 921 MB. I kept having problems downloading it on one iPad until it downloaded to our other iPad and I saw why. I would not have purchased the app had I known about the size requirement.

What a wonderful new app! I bought it for my 4 year-old grandson and we played together last night and had so much fun! Cookie Monster and all of his animal friends had him giggling the whole way through, and it was so wonderful to watch him work his way through all of the different types of games in the app. His favorite parts were quacking at the duck and decorating the cookies for Cookie Monster. Great app, and highly recommended!

A great one time play

My three year old and his two year old best friend both loved this app. I would not label this as an educational app but more of a game that encourages patience and listening skills. I really liked that aspect and did not mind that this was what my son gravitated towards during his iPad time because I realized very quickly that once he reached all levels he would not be so interested. It took him about a week or so to complete (his patience and willingness to follow directions are lacking- the game takes you back a step each time you do not follow directions) during very limited time playing. I appreciated this app most because my son and his friend do things incorrectly on purpose sometimes and find it funny but this game does not indulge this behavior. It simply makes you start over however many tries it takes to follow directions and suddenly, it's not so enjoyable to not follow directions. This mimics the Montessori approach to behavior so well- ignore the poor behavior and reward work done well. I also appreciated that it allows for multiple players.

Great game, takes up too much space.

My 3.5 year old loves this game and plays it over and over. The App Store says this version is only 89 mb. In the phone settings it says it is taking up 900mb. Perhaps some debug logging was left on in this build?

Challenging

This is a pretty well thought out game. It increases and decreases difficulty based on success of your child. But eventually they will need to pass a number of tough puzzles to finish the game. I noticed my daughter getting frustrated, but learning how to keep trying and eventually really enjoying the finale when she did it all. The only downside is that Cookie Monster can be difficult to understand.

My son has not had the chance to use this app because it crashes each time we hit the green go button! I was charged 2.99 and got nothing for it. Total rip off!
