Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency introduced as open source software in 2009 by pseudonymous developer Satoshi Nakamoto. It is a cryptocurrency, so-called because it uses cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money. Conventionally "Bitcoin" capitalized refers to the technology and network whereas lowercase "bitcoins" refers to the currency itself.

Bitcoins are created by a process called mining in which participants verify and record payments in exchange for transaction fees and newly minted bitcoin. Users send and receive bitcoin using wallet software on a personal computer, mobile device or on the web. Bitcoin can be obtained by mining or in exchange for products, services, or other currencies.

Needs a list feature

Has a cool augmented reality but where I live even though there is only ~20 locations that show up they overlap each other and it's not possible to read some. The compass feature is neat looking but not very practical because each store is like 0.001% of a turn to try to not pass it. Add a list and I can make my review a 5/5 :)

Super easy to use! Gives you the address and shows up on a map of the locations that accept bitcoins. Love this stuff.

Definitely an app worth checking out!

I’ve always been a fan of using Bitcoins since its debut and also finding new venues such as restaurants and other places in town that accepts Bitcoins. To my astonishment, I found quite a selection of venues that takes Bitcoins! My favorite part of this app has to be the compass. This compass literally shows me which direction I need to travel to reach my chosen destination. Not only can I find where to go, I can also obtain information such as directions, contact information, websites and more. I highly recommend this app to everyone that uses Bitcoins and new places to go at the same time!

No filters, incomplete location list
BitcoinAdam

Doesn't have all locations from coinmap.org because last update two months ago, doesn't have any filters, ie to look for restaurants. Coin Traveler is better

It's all bad
NotDaOne

I can see not one location on my compass and it keeps crashing on me

Crashes, cannot see anything on map

App crashes constantly. Please update asap.

Inaccurate is an understatement

All the venues I called to verify if they took bitcoin, didn't. They didn't even know what a bitcoin was... Sometimes an ATM in the venue incorrectly tagged the business as excepting bitcoin. And in those two cases, the ATM had not been in working order for over a year. Bitvision option is cool though.
