Only restricted to video files in Photo Library. Can’t open videos in Videos App

My club uploads practice videos to Vimeo which I can download. iTunes imports them into ‘Movies’ as Home Movies. I then sync these to my iPhone for review and they are available in the Videos App. I was hoping to use this app to access those videos and review frame-by-frame and slo-mo of our practices. Unfortunately, this is restricted to only videos in the Photo Library.

I import videos to folders in Photos. Works like a charm. Instant access (no add'l need to convert them inside the app and use up more storage!) Looks like that other guy is trying to use the app to open copy-protected movies. Something clearly impossible in an iOS device!
Fix one thing.

I use this for baseball player one of the fastest moments in sports the overhand throw. And it blurry at the point of rotation. Wish it would be perfect.
