A must have for chemists and chemistry students!
This application calculate for you the molar mass of a chemical compound.
You also get a periodic table keyboard.
Just enter your formula in the first text field and click the "Calculate"
Here are some examples:
CH3COOH
(NH4)3PO4
CuSO4.5H2O
C6H12O6
You can also save your recurring formulas in a dedicated page.
I’ve been using this formula mass calculator for years. I am a chemistry prof and I find that it saves a lot of time when I’m writing new notes. I tell my second year students to go ahead and just use it to save time. I don’t tell my first year students. LOL.
@SulleyBear24: In English, at least, you’re correct about the acronym. But you’re not correct about that in Spanish or French, in which the app might originally have been created. So, is that the only reason you panned this app with a 1/5 star rating?
Works well would recommend. It would be a really cool feature if you could name the elements too. It would also be cool if you could type in “oxalate” and get the percentages of oxygen and hydrogen instead of having to search that oxalate is OH and then putting it in.
Takes the time consumingness out of chem. Molar masses are easy but meticulous. This solves that problem! Pas problème!
I'm a chemistry prof, and this saves me a lot of time. At first, I didn't like that proper capitalization was required, but that does eliminate ambiguity, and I expect that degree of care from my students when they write chemical formulas. Many of my students are now using this, too.
It really meets its claims! It gives virtually instantaneous results. One if the best apps I've used in a while.
