Most news aggregators these days try to make me feel good about the facts and opinions they show me...so that I’ll keep coming back and then they can sell my attention to major advertisers. Not CivikOwl! Their mission is to genuinely inform a critical-thinking public. I end my morning read feeling knowledgeable about what different spins each media outlet is using to capture their loyal audience. This is good and healthy for a democracy I’m sworn to defend. Great way to find credible news

While me newsfeed continues to fill with articles, I regularly ask myself the following: Is the headline just clickbait? Is it written from a politically-motivated POV? Is it a waste of my time? Thankfully, a friend introduced me to CivikOwl. CivikOwl “scores” each article — effectively rating it based on how many sources the article references. It’s refreshing to see a product that values/rates the credibility of content vs. incentivizing other more shallow engagement metrics.
