Chrono Connect Mobile Pro

Pro Ballistic Chronograph on your iOS device!
Category Price Seller Device
Utilities $3.99 Andrew Lindsay iPhone, iPad, iPod

The best way of measuring an air guns power output without a an actual chronoscope!

Please make sure you try the Lite version for free before going Pro.

Chrono Connect Mobile Pro will monitor the speed of pellets leaving your air gun, rifle, pistol and display the speed and power for you in your chosen speed and power units, in a list of shots, and even in a graph!

Pro version includes many advanced features including.
- Unlimited shots in one go ( no 3 shot 'Lite' limit ).
- Full list of shots in the string.
- Graph of shots in the string.
- Full shot and string management.
- Comprehensive pellet database ( no need to manually enter weights and BC values for most pellets )
- Comprehensive rifle and pistol database.
- Visual over power warnings.

Chrono Connect Mobile works by reading your gun firing a pellet over a known distance so all distances should be entered as accurately as possible to ensure accurate readings.

When set up and used properly, Chrono Connect Mobile can be within a few feet per second of a real chronoscope device.

This app was created because I have heard of people doing the following things to determine the power of their airguns when they don't have a chronograph.

- Shoot into a yellow pages and count how many pages were shot through.
- Shoot at the ground and measure the 'mushroom' of the pellet.
- Shoot a coffee can. Did it go through 1 or 2 sides?
- Shoot a soda can in various places, if it goes through X place its X power.

Chrono Connect Mobile is a far better way than any of these methods of determining the speed and power of your gun.

As there are variables that are beyond our control you should not rely on Chrono Connect Mobile as your sole method of recording speed and power and should test the power of your gun using a real chronoscope if in any doubt.

Easy to use and Accurate

This app helps you get a very accurate estimate of fps. It works well, just need to measure perfectly for best results. Would love to get more pellets in the database especially for .22!

Unreliable

When this app detects a shot is fired it works as advertised, problem is it doesn't detect shots very consistently. I set everything up properly, made sure the settings matched my setup to a tee....app just doesn't work properly. I start a string & it might register the first shot, then not detect the next three, then register the fourth etc. Doesn't matter which settings are used. I tried everything from "very soft ambient sound" to "very loud ambient sound" & everything in between, varied the distances from pistol to device, device to pellet path etc etc....unreliable & frustrating. Not worth the trouble.

Doesn't work indoors

I should have read the FAQ on the website. Says to use outdoors. Echos will confuse the app. No wonder all 12 of my guns read about the same FPS in my garage! I like the software features. Hoping to get it outside for another test soon. Not much use to me if it won't work indoors though.

One pellet choice for .25 cal. I guess I can buy a chronograph so I can figure out the BC and use this chronograph?

Some upgrades needed

Fine and useful program but ... When I decided to use metric system all stored strings and graph are represented in ft/s and ft-lbf - why ? I want use Joules and m/s. In saved strings should be info about used pellet , sometimes I change pellet during one session and this info should be saved in string and in graph ( different line colour for different pellet types) Zoom in graph could be very useful
