Features controlled through the app:
Lights: turn on/off the light, choose from 5 different lighting effects (i.e. candle, random, flashing, etc.), adjust the brightness level, and choose from over 1,000 different color combinations!
Music: play music from your device’s local library OR stream music from your favorite music streaming app! Can play in shuffle mode, one song on repeat, or just go through full music library one-by-one. Can also have the lights pulse to the beat of the music for even more fun!
Alarm & Sleep Timer: set an alarm to be woken up to the song and light color of your choice or set the sleep timer to wind down both the music and the lights as you fall asleep!
Shake Feature: control certain music & light functions just by shaking your phone! You can set the feature you’d like to have this motion control (i.e. next song, pause / play, light on/off, or random color)!

I’ve used this quite a bit over the years and loved the convenience of being able to turn out the light without getting out of bed. A couple months ago it just stopped connecting to the app. If you recently bought this bulb, return it because if you cannot connect then it’s worthless. I wanted to contact the developer, but was unable. I guess they just abandoned the app.

Too many issues to list for this senior principal firmware engineer. This apps best purpose would be at University teaching repeatable, serious flaws in a standardized user interface like iOS. Apples app test team gets a FAIL on Chroma-Melody’ rancid smart bulb implementation ever making it to a released App Store distribution. In that a single ‘fixed some bugs’ patch from 2016 is found to exist on this fetid rotting placenta from a cancerous sewer rat resonates with me. Demonstrates a totally severed technical relationship between this products developer(s) and Apple. I always was able to get the ‘system’ to work perfectly as long as I followed a circumspect round-the-world journey frim Guangzhou to Appalachia to Silicon Valley. Shame, shame, shame.

Why app still stay open on locked screen?????It’s impossible to turn app off from locked screen unless you delete it and download it again!!!
Chang of color won’t connect

I just got the app, and the light bulb works. The music plays. But when I go to change the color, it won’t connect. I have it connected to Bluetooth tho. Some bug in the app I’m guessing considering it hasn’t been updated in 2 years.
App Stopped Connecting to Light - Now OK

It takes longer to use this app to turn on the light than it would to walk across the room to turn it on. And it takes four or five different actions (taps) to turn the light on or off when it should only take one. It seems to have a continuous Bluetooth connection problem. The app only seems to be vaguely aware that the light exists and takes forever to connect when you open the app. For the last 24 hours it wouldn’t connect at all, but now it’s back to working at it’s deathly slow pace. I see the app hasn’t been updated in three years. Has it been orphaned?

Somewhat finicky to set up for the audio playback and light control! The pulse to the audio seemed a little odd!...would like to see a setting for a single color pulse to the audio…also, the "old school" method for visual pulse was to progress through the color spectra based on frequency and intensity!.…the audio to color pulse on this seems a bit random!…there's definitely room for improvement!!!

I like the concept and am using this as an overhead in a shower and as a light and speaker set it works well. The app music function is buggy in that essentially it only moves through the playlist in alphabetical order, even when 'shuffle' is selected' As a speaker system it works well enough and the ability to change the light is nice. I purchased this speaker/bulb through Sam's Club in June 2016 for $29 and feel it is a good value.
