Worst.App.Ever!!!!!

QueenSilly

This app doesn't do a *#+*^ thing. I have tried at least a dozen times to enter my kids' data, pictures, etc. only to have the app hang up when I try to hit the "done" button. Same thing when I try to add chores, it simply will not input and store information! Worse, some of the information I put in earlier seems to have mysteriously disappeared--including the profile picture of my son, and now every time I try to re-enter a picture of him, I get an error message. Don't bother with this app, so far it has just been a complete waste of my time. I think this app would be great if it actually functioned. I love the concept and the cute monsters. What I don't like is being stuck in an endless cycle of trying to input info!

It’s very broken

I’ve been doing chores on this for a while and now every time I open the app it says I need to log in and my parents don’t know the password. I hate this now and I can’t do anything because it won’t let me log in. Fix this now.

Great except for connection problems

We’ve really enjoyed the app and haven’t found a better chore/reward app, but I’m giving it 3 stars due to all of the frustrating connection errors we’ve been getting.

Awesome

I love this app and so does my son (5). He gets so incredibly excited about winning monsters (completing chore means you get to spin a wheel and possibly win one). His chores have pictures since he doesn’t read yet and he has no trouble working the app. I had a glitch with approving chores in the Mothershp app, but much to the developers credit, they fixed the bug less than 24 hours after I reported it. I do wish that it would show a list of completed chores with dates, since none of ours have due dates (he has to pick them and earn enough points to get allowance weekly). Sometimes we can’t tell if he’s already marked one or not and you can’t see what’s been recently done, just how many have been done total.

Annoying

I find it really annoying that I need to enter the username and password when switching between accounts even when I check the box that says “Remember your login.”

Great concept but horrible execution so far

We really wanted this app to work as advertised as it’s supposed to tie in to our new Circle device and allow the completion of chores to give our kids extra screen time. Sadly it doesn’t work very good at all. Half of our kids’ chore tasks don’t show up on their iPads and the ones that do don’t seem to work all the time. We never seem to get the notification that the chores are complete for us to verify. To make matters worse we tried to reset our passwords and it took 4 or 5 tries to email to get this done. The email with the password reset link would never come through. I hope the app can be updated and improved to work as advertised. Otherwise we’ll be getting rid of it.

Love this app

Momymonster

This app is awesome! As a single parent it takes a lot of my nagging and prodding my kids away and puts the responsibility and control in the kids hands. They love accomplishing their chores and watching the monster dance! Thank you for this app we need all the help we can get as parents!!

Kids run out of screen time before recording chore?

Solution : add ChoreMonster.com as a filter exception and “unmanaged”. Thanks for solving.

Amazing!!

This is our first night using it but my kids were running around with their kindles right before bed to make sure all of their stuff was done to max out their points. They were so motivated and it made getting stuff done less of a chore for all of us :) EDITED TO ADD: After using it about a week, the only thing I would add is a way to do bonus chores. Like if they wanted to do some extra things for extra points. I now I can use bonus points, but they would like to see what the chore is and how much it is worth from their app.

Great idea & interface, however needs work

I really love the idea of this app. The kids love it as well. However, a week into using this I have come across several issues which is making it more of a “chore” for me to continue. 1. When editing a chore for 1 child, it doesn’t translate to 2nd child. 2. Editing is time consuming & cumbersome. 3. Chore disappeared on my daughters list. 4. Chore that was supposed to appear only once, is appearing daily. 5. Not able to see Daily list for one day. The only list is the full set of chores. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I will be trying a different app for hopefully better results! Hope this review helps the developer to improve the functionality & will be happy to come back to it at that point. Thanks! ***UPDATED REVIEW*** The developer has promptly responded & addressed all my issues with this app. I truly appreciate it & will be on the lookout for the updated version! Thank you!
