Chore Bank

Chore Bank is the best way to keep track of your child's allowance, completion of chores, and spending money. It is your own personal 'Bank of Dad'...or Mom.
Category Price Seller Device
Lifestyle $1.99 Ashley Kayler iPhone, iPad, iPod

It includes many features that will encourage your children to get all their chores done.

Set up a chore list and assign a monetary value to each chore. When a child completes a chore you simply check off the chore and the value of the chore is added to that child's account.

You can make deposits to a child's account to handle random 'gifts' or unexpected earnings. You can make withdrawals from the account, when your child wants money for something you would not ordinarily pay for yourself.

You can set an interest rate. This is a great way to teach your child the value of saving money.

If you upgrade to Chore Bank Pro, you also get:
- Chore Scheduling
- Printable Chore Calendar
- Text message reminders to kids when their chores are scheduled
- Assign consequences for chores not done
- Create custom chore lists for each child
- Two parents can share one account

Exactly what I was looking for!

I have 4 kids to which I pay based on the work they do. This app makes it easy to keep track of what they do and what I owe them. I had the app Kids Allowances but it was not very user friendly. I highly recommend this app.

Wonderful

This is a wonderful program!!! It is by far the best allowance app! My kids are cleaning like crazy! My husband loves that he could add back scratching! We have added behavior chores also. I would love the deposit/withdrawl to have a password. I would also like to preset loss of $ for certain negative behaviors -like interrupting while I am on a work phone call. Overall I would highly recommend this program!!!!

Great app!

Please add ability to edit/delete transactions.

Good app, could use some fine tuning

This is a nice app, but it would be nice to if there was a lock on the ability to add or take away funds. Also, it would be nice if there was a way to multiply the number of times a chore was done. For example, if we paid our kids 25 cents a cup to pick blueberries, and I have it in the chore list that way, it would be neat if I could just put a 5 in front of it somehow and it would add five times 25 cents to their account. Additionally, it would be nice if there was a way to rearrange the order of the tasks by editing them, or possibly to be able to sort them either alphabetically or by amount paid out. Either that, or if there was some way to further sort the chores into folders or something, so you don't end up having so many chores to scroll through. Or to assign particular chores to certain children, so chores that a particular child never does would not be cluttering up his/her chore list. It might also be nice if it came with a sampling of common chores children do already input into it, although I realize that every family may have differences of opinion in what chores they want/expect their children to do depending on their ages & abilities. Anyway, these are just my thoughts on this app. Thanks!

Great help to mom

I have three children and have struggled in the past with the "chore" of keeping up with my children's allowance totals. This software is a wonderful way for the kids to get motivated about doing their chores and earning their own funds. They are jumping for joy as they see their totals go up and I am enjoying the peace and harmony that has resulted from their efforts. I am sure that future versions will include the ability to reorganize the chore list, a suggested chore list, ability to print or email total sheets, and a software version for my mac computer. Over I am very pleased with this easy and HELPFUL software!!!

Awesome idea, but needs some work

I love the idea of this app, but since I purchased it several weeks ago, I have been unable to use it for several reasons: I can't make separate lists for each child - I have four of them ranging in age from 3-11. Obviously they are going to have very different responsibilies, and as far as I can tell, there is no way to make up seperate lists. Also, it would be nice if we could add our own rewards for the younger kids who dont yet understand or care about the value of money, or even for the older ones who want to earn certain priveledges. For instance, having the option to enter non-monetary rewards like TV or computer time or having a friend over would make this app much more useful. I think this would also eliminate a lot of that "but you said..." "diplomacy" (which would be really helpful to this forgetful mom)! This way I could enter the promise as something they have to earn, and I would have it right here in black and white. Also, a wheel (of fortune style) or something would be fun for kids to spin (or maybe a shake feature) for random rewards that we have set up. One more idea is to add a feature that shows how much they have earned toward a specific goal of their choosing - say enough to purchase a certain toy or game they are saving up for, with maybe some sort of graph for the visual gratification of watching their allowance add up. I know these are a lot of requests, but I think this has the potential to be  app! So basically, this would really be useful if it were more customizable. Again, awesome idea, but *please* consider these additions in an update so I can actually use this (soon) - so far, it has been useless because I can't customize the lists for each child. Keep up the good work, though! I can't wait for some updates! 

Love this app

There are two reasons I won't give it five stars is the inability to erase previous transactions and my main main problem is sometimes I go to save some transactions it kicks me out of the whole thing or don't save anything I just put in other than that it's an awesome app

Nice app!

This app is so easy to use, my husband and I love it. We have 5 children who nickel and dime us everytime we leave the house and it has been great turning that around on them! This app is very helpful for teaching a child to see that hard work pays off, and it reinforces the idea that laziness is not rewarded. Suggestions include options to truly make it more like a real bank account with mom and dad...the ability to sort transactions per child, the option to designate percentages of the balance to savings, charity, and spending (we originally were going to try the app that did that but it was no longer available!), and finally an option for a recurring payment. All in all, this app is great and very useful in our family!

Easy to use

I like this app a lot. My kids look forward to see what balances are in their accounts. I would give this app 5 stars if it could do the following 3 things: 1) be able to sort chores alphabetically, so it is easier to scroll down & find a particular chore; 2) be able to look at each child's history individually instead of a cumulative history for all children; 3) have the capability to export data via email or some other means.

Great idea

Great idea. I have two boys, 11 & 13, did chore after a lot of push. I showed them the app and their response was swift. Now my job is just to push the buttons. Although the app is on the right direction, it luck capability of editing, assigning chores for each kid. Also I was only able to add kids name in small letters. The capital letter works on all exept on the "Account" button. I like this app & I hope for the update to come soon.
