"Choice of Robots" is an epic 300,000-word interactive sci-fi novel by Kevin Gold, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Play out thirty years of your life as a brilliant robot maker, from graduate school near the present day to a future in which your robots have changed everything. Depending on your choices, your robots may be independent or obedient, clumsy or graceful, empathic or cold…and you yourself may live to an old age happily married or alone with only robots to comfort you.

Play as male or female, gay or straight, with nine characters to romance, four alternate climax chapters, and over seventy achievements to unlock.

• Build a unique robot character—you choose everything from its shape to what it calls you
• Instigate or prevent a robotic uprising
• Teach your robots to love humanity, or disdain it
• Build an artificial intelligence suitable to take control of the world's governments
• Start a war against the United States, and win
• Marry a human or an advanced robot, and start a family

Amazing

This game was clearly made with love and familiarity with AI. The depth of the characters and subtle shifts in what happens are delightful. I can’t wait to see what this studio comes out with next.

Possibly my favorite
Do not buy for your own sake

Ive played around 15 choice of games, and this is the one I come back to the most This game has so many endings and many choice affect how your robot turns out *spoilers*Every time I play I find a new thing, from the elf shop to stopping the revolution with the ex-teacher *end spoiler* This is one of the most dynamic games made from Choice Of

Just Fantastic

There’s little to say about Kevin Gold’s “Choice Of Robots” other than that’s it’s absolutely exceptional. If this isn’t the pinnacle of interactive storytelling, I want to read the novel that is. Throughout each of the vast number of varied story arcs, you’ll plunge into a unique aspect of science fiction with the aid of Kevin’s breadth of knowledge on subjects such as philosophy, war, romance, differential equations (it’s not scary), the play “Pippin” and, and (of course) the definition of life. And into this vast web, Kevin weaves stories that reflect your own with an eeriness that might lead you to believe the story itself is self-aware. Do yourself a favor and play/read this. But be warned, you’ll replay/read it. A lot. A lot lot.

Wow! This game blew me away

I had a hard time believing all of the hype in the reviews, but I’ve got to say that this interactive novel does more in one game than most exceptional ones do in three. This is a complete package rather than that “wait for the next chapter and pay for it to continue your story” nature of really good interactive novels that I’ve seen. This is long enough to be a whole series of interactive novels and a fine one at that. Whoever made this and took the time to bleed this emotion into this piece of art, if you’re reading this, thank you. Thank you so much.

Beautiful game

Some may view the unorthodox text and choice style as boring or lacking in immersion, however the great writing and sense of influence you have through your choices creates a deep and personal experience. If you play the game seriously, there will be multiple points in which you face moral dilemmas. Is it moral to send intelligent beings, albeit robots into war? If not, then more humans will have to be sent instead which creates greater casualties. The writing in the game creates a strong attachments or animosity towards characters and your choices will have a noticeable impact on how the story unfolds. There is tons of replay value, however I wish there was more to be done with a single story line rather than having to replay it again in order to explore the story rich world the game offers (but that may just be me being stingy because the game was great).

This is by far my favorite CoG, I always find myself coming back for more play throughs. The story is interesting and hooks you in from screen one. Every choice carries weight and you will see that in both the long term and short term. It’s all in all phenomenal

Absolutely wonderful

Choice of Games got it right with this extraordinary title. For those who see my reviews I usually only leave reviews when these games fail miserably and / or are written by illiterate morons. This is a sweeping saga that embodies what this genre should be accomplishing. The choices made a dramatic impact on the story, this must have been a beast to write. One problem though, we need to be able to do all of the major achievements at the end.

Fantastic

This game is just amazing, I love the story, I love the choices, I love the people, I love all the things that can happen, how majorly you can impact the world, just everything is amazing. I love it and I will be recommending it to many friends

Best CoG by far

The best of 2014 and possibly their best overall. Must-read.
