Just make sure you have wifi! Otherwise the app will chomp your data up. Either way it's a great app for the live chess action as well as for the daily/weekly chess action. Even-matched opponents for all --- I approve.

Better than the website in some ways

This is so clean and simple to use. I love being able to easily play online with my friends and family and the app is really easy to navigate and easy on the eyes too. Also, you can create custom boards which the web version does not have (it's one of the reasons I like the app more than the website). I play chess with metal pieces on a stone board with Half Dome as my wallpaper. That's pretty awesome if you ask me.

I had downloaded the app but only played the computer when a coworker mentioned he started playing online and improved a lot so I gave it a shot. I'm not sure how it compares to other chess apps but I'm hooked on this one. I love the play by play review at the end that points out your blunders and suggests the best move as well as the tactics and lessons and I also like how easy it is to text a game to a friend to share your glory with them after a big win. I had an error once where a connection issue caused me to lose a game due to abandonment and customer service responded to me within a few hours and credited my points back. Very easy to use for custom starting positions as well if you're following along with a book.
