Fantastic video quality. Brilliant coaching

This program does not describe chess openings at all. There’s only a selection of videos but no compilations or explanations of standard chess openings. When you open the playing board you can see responses to your opening moves in the chess notation format but the board doesn’t even have the squares marked for you.

The videos are helpful introductions to the various openings and the database-linked board app is a nice way to practice and explore different lines.

I came across this app recently quite by accident. I am so impressed. Dereque explains the main ideas of the openings so clearly and with so much enthusiasm, I am hooked. The only problem? It doesn’t go on forever.

Good info on WHY different openings

He presents good background related to mid game and end game decisions on why certain opening moves are played. This is better than just memorizing setups with no reason. Also he takes the openings a few steps more than others I’ve seen. Watching up to the tenth move or so gives you a better idea what is the idea than just the first 3 or 4 moves. And the practice computer is good to review what he teaches. Nice app.

Money worthy to pay for it

This app has a several video opening tutorial that make your money value to pay for it. Aditionaly. I highly recommend this app to my friends in chess and i am not recomending this to the haters cheater in chess so they can lost their games against me in .....

Good app, needs arrow keys

This is a very good app, but badly needs a set of forward and back arrow keys to navigate through the tree of openings.
