? So, yeah, it's an iMessage chess game. Fun for a few moves but not really appropriate for a full game, like at all. Problems: 1️⃣ Pieces are not well defined 2️⃣ Gameplay is weird with rotating board 3️⃣ Colors are garish 4️⃣ Themes are kinda stoopid 5️⃣ Does being free equate we should be thankful for crap? (Answer: no, we should be able to review it like we would any other app.) 6️⃣ Developer seems like a crybaby ?

Really cool idea! It's great playing with friends when I don't have time to sit down and play a game as often as I used to. Easy to use too!

First off, I love Chess. My current rating is just under 1800... I'm a decent player. I've tried just about all of Chess apps. I downloaded this Chess iMessages app and I'm thoroughly disappointed. Fortunately, It was the App of the week and a free Download and I only wasted time not money. Yes, the iMessage app plays Chess in iMessage but it doesn't have any other benefits. Nothing. There are no playback of previous moves or history of moves. The pieces are really hard to see and difficult to distinguish from each other, and you can't modify their appearance. The board is a really weird blue/teal color. You can change it to 2 other even weirder colors themes but then one theme has the pieces with Santa hats on. I wish I was joking. So given it's in iMessages, you'd think 'Continuity' must exist with your iPhone and desktop/laptop iMessages app ... Nope. Strictly on the iPhone. I'm really annoyed at this rotating feature. Once you move your piece there's an extra step of having to submit your move and then the board rotates. And then one will l have to turn their phone around to see the board from their correct perspective. So when you are playing white pieces, after you move, you'll be looking from the POV of the black pieces. And there isn't a button or anything to rotate the board back to your correct POV. I'm pretty disappointed. I find it better to play Chess in an App with timed limits, modifications, customization, history, a collection of games you are playing, tracking wins and losses etc... And yes, the game is hard to find! Especially if it's your first time using Games in iMessages. Their website's support point you back to Apple Support. Frustrating. I was looking for support bc I shared the free link with about 5 of my friends ... and I was frustrated and I instantly regretted telling them to download the app for free. Why not just provide users with a resource to use this app? Make it easy. I do not recommend. I'm sorry, but stay away. It feels like the Chess players user experience is not a priority in their design of this app. *** Update*** The developer has responded to my post and it's pretty pathetic. Please their response, it is sad. "This is not Chess in the real world" I'm not even sure what that means ... but it is as if my review on the app was a personal attack to them. Not the case, I reviewed the app based on my Chess app experience. This is a BAD app or iMessage app. If you are a Chess player, do not download it. It will frustrate you. And If so download and you have integrity, you will review it poorly. Just expect a whiny response from the developer. They won't ask how to improve the user's gaming experience, but they will whine with plenty of excuses. I will now go to BorderLeap and make note of the rest of their apps, so I know which apps to avoid in the future. There's no crying is App development. Build a better app and don't attack the users. smh

I want to uninstall and see your message that it can be uninstalled using a link in the"app drawer" of I Message. I'm using an iPad. Where exactly is this? This app isn't worth the strange way you have to play!
