The Apple Watch series 5 not even generate the the code QR. so frustrating. I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstalled again but not working at all

I keep trying to pull it up on my Apple Watch to connect it and it keeps telling me “Getting code QR, wait a moment” and it never works no matter what I do or how long I leave the app open. I’ve even tried deleting and redownloading it.
