Step in the right direction

This is a good app and is a step in the right direction. It needs to be indexed by day for easy navigation to the day's devotional reading.

A Lot of Promise

This app shows a lot of potential. CCEL's library is huge--the ability to download titles from there would be great. This program doesn't need to be a bible reader, I would be happy if it focused on being a good searchable ebook front end for CCEL.

Review of CCEL Bible (Free)
LukeBuck

As a student of theology I have been searching for a decent Bible app for the iphone. There are of course several to choose from, but what I like the most about CCEL Bible (Free) is that it has a clean interface, is easy to navigate, and uses a serif font as the default font. Once you start the app you are presented with a list of books (a library), and at the bottom there is a menu bar with the standard options. When choosing a book you are presented with the title page of the selected book, and after a second or so the option bar and title bar “fade away” so you only have to page in view. The pages are cleanly formatted and are very easy and pleasant to read. As an iphone app it is very useful, and I keep it on my home screen for fast and easy access. As a major pluss, the upcoming feature to download books from CCEL is perhaps what makes it the most promising of all the bible apps I have seen so far, and it will without a doubt be my bible app of choice. -- "Eirene soi", Mvh. I love how easy it is to get to the chapter and verse, and I can bookmark my important chapters to find them even faster. The extra books are wonderful to have at hand.

Fantastic!

To have both Spurgeon and St Thomas a Kempis as part of this Bible app make it very worth the price... FREE! Amazing. When you move b/t books in the library it automatically returns to the page you were last on which makes daily devotions convenient
