Fire the Writers!

BigDaddy Rob

The RC Calendar may be OK for finding out what feast day is is but the synopsis I read today was the last straw. Poor or trite phrases for SAINTS abound; People who we are to look up to and I get and I quote, "After nine years in the convent she dies and that was that."! see Oct 1 feast of the Little Flower. In context I don't know if it was the Saint who died or the superior mentioned in the previous sentence! I happen to know from another source the Saint Therese' died after nine years in the Carmel not the superior. I am removing this from I phone and finding a better one with better writing about the Saints. I'm no Yeats or Shelley but I know poor and careless writing when I see it (and when I produce it) and this Stuff is TERRIBLE!

How wonderful to have available to read daily.

Gulfbrznsun

I appreciate the ability to change the text to a font and size so that I do not have to have reading glasses. This app was well done.

Great app for priests and deacons

Aabsgeek

Works wonderfully and now I do not have to carry a heavy book around and spend time flipping around in the book. Being a permanent deacon this allows me to do the liturgy of the hours at work with ease.

Great

KirbyruleZ

Includes liturgy of the hours and daily readings.

Informative

BoredomBoy

Easy to use and informative

Would be great if it'd sync

JackieO.1

Great app, but pls consider getting the holy days to sync w iCal & link back to your app.

What a great resource!

EbethW

Great app for moms and dads, too! Love getting the Liturgy of the Hours spoon fed to me and the readings at the touch of a button anywhere at anytime. Thanks! EbethW

Mass readings are different

AzRy

I can't use this to go along for the mass readings for the day cause it's incorrect. Felt like a fool since a friend with some droid has the correct readings of the day for his phone

The review below this isn't a review; the app is useful, but limited.

I'm saddened by the user who reviewed this app saying how we are wrong in the way in which we celebrate or are involved in our Faith. To that "Know the Truth" reviewer: If you really are Christian, you would respect the other forms and traditions of observing God, including as something useful as keeping up with liturgical days. I hope you're not posting on people's Islam/Hindi/Buddhist/Jewish apps... I'll pray for you, and pray I am less bothered by your 'holier-than-thou' type. As for the app itself, it has been very beneficial in keeping track of significant days, though I feel a bit short changed (the prayers throughout the day are disabled on the free app and I am not sure how to activate them if it's possible with the free version). I started Confirmation at the beginning of the liturgical calendar and have found the app very useful in learning about the saints, many of which were filled with humility and dealt with the mundane gracefully. The little excerpts are inspiring to read. I also appreciate how easy it is to pick any date in the year and find out if it is significant or ordinary, and how it correlates with the Julian calendar. My one major criticism is the functions and menus are not intuitive... Maybe provide a guide on how to navigate throughout the app?
