One star because Carrier doesn’t seem to care that the app works only when it wants to. The app disconnects from the unit and requires resetting the unit to establish a connection. Settings change randomly. Schedules disappear out turn off. No API to connect to home automation. I like the AC but if you want “smart” then buy another brand.
The app seemed to work pretty well until I updated the OS sw on my iPhone today. It blew up the app. The app can’t even login now. I can use the remote that came with the AC unit, but it’s pretty sad when a sw dev team can’t keep up with OS upgrades in this day and age.
Will give it 5 stars once they figure out why accounts can no longer login because the app says they don’t exist anymore. This started once this app update was generated. PLEASE FIX
Especially if you want to control or schedule the air cons while you’re away, it does not work most of the time. It’s unreliable. More stressful to use it.
I just installed this app for my Carrier AC unit. While the app functions it’s definitely barebones and really hi-lights that appliance makers should just stick to appliances and let companies like Apple/Amazon Alexa handle the home automation. This is the second app I have for a single appliance Carrier AC and GE AC that’s 2 logins. Both apps are mediocre at best and don’t integrate with anything except appliances from their respective manufacturers.
