Why are you forcing me to upgrade to a subscription. Opened the ap today and it will not load. Just a big pop up to upgrade to a yearly subscription. Just lost a fan. I will look for a different scanner.

While I hear the concerns of many that it is required to purchase more modules to use more advanced features (seemingly quite expensive), however purchasing comparable software that is this stable is also quite expensive. Market dynamics are just that. If the competitors charge a s*** load, why should another business charge extensively less? It works great, and for those who want make specific parameters, this one works well. Try buying a standard OBD II reader for $50-$150+ and see how well it works for you. No problems so far with stability or connectivity. The only problem I have had is it does not connect to my E46, though it does to my E60 and F30 just fine.

Like several other I thought when I bought the pro I bought all the features. Then some of the don’t work for my car anyway. I a little concerned when I see weekly updates and bug fixes. Makes me hesitant to plug this in my car for fear it going to mess something up. It appears to me that they “beta test” by releasing an update and then see what bugs are found.

I really like this app because it’s easy to use and encompasses everything I need. I don’t have to go to another app or this is not linked to another to view options. Be aware that every BMW listed to use this app may not have all the functions available to you. That’s not because of the app, that’s because BMW didn’t put that ECU or hardware in...probably because that option was not bought or added from the factory. That’s the software side. The hardware side is nice too and keep in mind that you have to purchase the Carly OBD2 dongle to use all the features on Carly BMW Pro. I have another dongle that works in multiple cars and apps, but is limited when I connect it to this app. That’s not a bad thing necessarily. It just means consumers cannot be as frugal as they would like to be. The wi-fi dongle and app do not have an immediate connection, so do not think that they do...none of them do. However, they do connect fairly quick and you can code your car or check and reset codes all within minutes. And you don’t have to connect your laptop, which is the convenience of it all. Overall, this is a very inclusive system. You can code, reset, and view trouble codes all in one app. You do have to purchase the options, however, they are still cheaper than buying them for a clunky laptop with a wired OBD2 adapter. I can easily recommend this to any BMW enthusiast, even a random car owner who tinkers intermittently. Devs, I would love to see more levels of iDrive and coding capabilities.

Waste of time and money

The app is a bit confusing and I got this to code my BMW i3 and after several attempts to only code that seems to ha e worked was the door handle lighting while in reverse. I mainly got this app so I could code the car to allow me to use all the gas in the gas tank but it appears that this option is not yet available. Feels like I wasted $150 on the app, WiFi adapter and extra in app add on. Complete wast of time and money.
