Especially handy when making buy vs. lease calculations.

Makes understanding Car Loan costs easy
Pocohantus

This is an excellent app to help make the process of buying a car (or leasing it) less daunting. It lays out the costs of both financing and ongoing in a clear concise way. Every new car buyer should arm themselves with this prior to walking into the car dealer.

Very straight forward
thinkmega

The workflow of the first 4 icons/tabs captured exactly what I wanted to find out, very straight forward and well thought out. I've never leased a car, so the Buy vs. Lease comparison is not very intuitive to me. Wish there is a Glossary table to explain all common terms (I am not native English speaker).

Nice Tool for Auto Shoppers

Easy to use and accessible. Great application for someone planning to finance a vehicle.

Excellent App.(Use to Sell Cars)

This application is really what every buyer needs to have, so that there is no shock about what things cost. I find that if you are in control of the numbers, you have much more of a chance of putting together the proper deal that best represents you. Great Application and an even better contribution to our society.

Awesome

For someone on a budget, like me, this a great tool to have when looking for a new car. I'm in the market right now and having this app lays everything out so I can see what I can afford in monthly payments; not to mention the insurance factor too! Well worth the $2!

Great app- get it!

So far, the only app I found that allows you to factor in negative equity (when your car's trade-in value is worth less than you owe on it). This app really helped me determine what I could afford and what I wanted my deal to look like. I literally held up my iPhone and said, "match this and it's sold" and they did!

Everything you need and more!

I have been testing different iphone apps for several weeks now, and this app literally has everything I need and more! I had a problem initially in that I needed higher interest rates for comparisons, so I emailed the developers right from my iPhone, they responded within 24 hours and in one week the new feature was added! This app is so easy and intuitive to use. I can play with the numbers in seconds to help me make informed decisions. I also love the fact that I can do 'what if' scenarios and with the click of one button on just about every page, I can get a concise report emailed to me, which allows to to send to other dealers to see if they can match it. Every time I go to a dealer, they riddle me with confusing numbers, trying to confuse me with their hidden charges. With this app I have actually nipped their trickery and have walked away from these shady deals. The little scrolling wheels make it so easy to adjust my totals, so many other apps have sliders which I find impossible to move accurately. And when I make changes to an amount on one page, the app automatically updates the formulas on the other pages. I personally love the Loan screen that lets me play with the interest rates as well as the purchase price so I can see exactly what my payments are going to be. It really shows me how much the developers care about making their product the best when they put an Email Us button right on every screen so that we can easily send them suggestions, express concerns, or ask them questions. I really can't say enough about this app!

Comparison Flaw - Need to account for Sales Tax in Lease Payments
30-40 Something

Be careful on this app. The Lease versus buy comparison is not correct if you simply rely on the input fields. When you enter your loan info, it asks for your sales tax rate and then calculates this as an additional amount needed for your loan. On the Lease Payment there is NO mention of monthly sales tax amount. Guess what, when you lease you still have to pay sales tax, just on your monthly amount versus the entire purchase. I can foresee someone saying that all you have to do to account for this is include the monthly tax amount as part of your monthly payment, however NOT true. If you do this, it substantially throws off your money factor. I looked for an email to tell the developer about this but could not find it. If the developer simply includes the sales tax as a separate line item in the lease payment so a true apples to apples comparison can be made, I will definitely move this to 4+ stars, until then, beware. If you want to get some sort of apples to apples comparison, do NOT include sales tax in your loan calculation and BE sure to request the dealer gives you your monthly payment quote (without TAX) which is what they normally do to you to make the payment seem lower than it is. PLEASE fix this comparison error. Until this is fixed, the lease will seem better if you correctly input into the lease payment calculator the Money Factor Quoted by the dealer.

Doesn't ask for enough information to calculate a lease
UncleMikey10

I'm in auto sales. In order to calculate a lease you need the MSRP of the vehicle, the residual value, the lease term, the money factor, the sales tax rate, acquisition fee, motor vehicle fees and any dealer fees. This "lease calculator" only asks for about half of that information. How could you possibly calculate an accurate lease without all the pieces to the puzzle. Obviously whoever designed this app isn't aware of this. Hopefully they will release an update for is app.... Or refund my 2 bucks. It's a shame because i actually like the layout of the program. It's easy to use but it just cannot produce an accurate lease payment without all of the required information. It's like buying a car with no steering wheel. How are you supposed to use it?
