I want to like it but...

Syphoning is way too hit or miss to be any fun. Re-positioning the crosshair to hit the sweet spot for successfully draining an object is very frustrating. Sometimes there's no problem while other times it appears that only one side of a crystal will allow syphoning. Targetting the tile underneath always seems to work but due to distance/visibilty, this is not always possible. Some of the backgrounds are just too dark. An option to choose the background colors or a high visibility mode would help.

Great game, controls need tweaking...

This is an awesome Sentinel Returns remake with a great dark atmosphere and great sounds but like the other review of this app stated, getting through a level is way too frustrating because the syphoning system is so unforgiving... here are some other suggestions to keep in mind for the next update: 1.) Faster paced actions (too much transition time between objects fading in and out as you click on them) 2.) Edit the 3D model of the Capita -- it's too unclear which way it's facing so it's hard to plan when to move. 3.) More playing field color options would be nice and would decrease the repetitiveness of the levels. Having different background colors would be cool too instead of just the dark blue one. Maybe even a brightness option (?) 4.) As stated above, definitely make it easier to syphon enemies/objects. Namely the crystals are very difficult to pick up as is.

Great game; tricky controls

JazzFishZen

First, this is a fantastic game with plenty of strategy. Having said that, the controls are unintuitive and at times difficult. It seems that you have to target the square containing an object to affect the object (absorb crystals, transfer into a clone), which is hard to do at any kind of range. And the "absorb" command isn't part of the menu ring: it's the crosshair, you have to tap it again to absorb. That one took some doing to figure out. Some variation in the color scheme would be nice, as would some better differentiation of the direction the Capita is facing. Again, these are minor nits. It's still a four-star game! If they were cleaned up it'd be fantastic instead of just "quite good."

Classic

Pretty much how I remember Sentinel on the C64, including the learning curve. :-) Yes, it would be nice if Capita had a nose like the Minions do. That way you could tell which way it was facing without zooming in.

Great remake of a classic - bad controls

Devilchaser

This is a faithful a remake of the original Sentinel for Commodore 64. It would have gotten five stars if it weren't for the clunky controls. You need to be able to act fast in this game when needed, but the controls are terrible for this. Not only do you need to hold down on the screen to target a location, the target point is significantly off center. So you have to hold down and drag your aim point just to get it where you want it. That is horrible design, how could anyone think it was a good idea?! Improve the interface to improve your rating.
