Works great with the camranger hardware. Latest update (for iPhone 8, current update as of 11/1/17) has messed with the icons in the upper right corner (hdr, focus, etc) on my iPad Air.

Being able to use my iPad screen instead of the back of my D800 is amazing for both composition as well as for precise focus control. Easy setup. Love it.

App requires me to reregister almost every time I use it. I paid for the hardware and the app is useless without it. Why the cryptic registration every time. Latest version will not hold a connection to the camera.
Kind of a $30 toy.

They're trying hard but it's a little bush league... adjustment confirmations ("FOCUSING!!!!!") consist of a full-page flash in your face ("ADJUSTING!!!"), thus diverting all attention from the actual image, the focusing points, etc. to the surface of the iPad. Precise focusing is THE reason for the gizmo in the first place. Losing it in a !!!FLASH!!!! !!!CONFIRMING!!! in your face is counterproductive. If the software engineers would spend some 'reality time' using the device they would definitely change ALL confirmation responses to an off-image color (instead of brightness) change. It's iffy as to whether or not I would recommend to a friend. The built-in eye strain from above-mentioned confirmation aren't doing anyone any favors. Is it worth it? Not yet.

The CamRanger is a must have for serious photographers and pros. I end up using it often in the field and in the studio. It's helpful for both stills and video.

Works great. Once you connect to CamRanger network, no more worry about losing connection. Tried Eye-Fi and really only could get it to work with Shutter Snitch and all that would do was down load the photo. With this I can control all settings except turning the dial (or pushing the button) for P, Tv, etc. other than that I can adjust all settings, ISO, etc. Works as advertised. Before you buy it, check the list of compatible Cameras, if your's isn't listed, send email to developer and he will let you know on timing for your camera. Great support! Took it to Rome and used it at the Roman forum as well as the Colosseum. Again this thing rocks!
