No Longer Works; No Support
Deece51

I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 10. I had been using this app for over a year with no problem. A month ago it stopped working. When I launch the app I get only a darkened freeze frame. I have tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail. Contacted support two weeks ago and have heard nothing.

Instructions in English would be nice not just Russian. Can't get all the functions to work so it's frustrating

Perfect for old iPod touch repurposed
leaseguru

I've tried four other dash Cam apps on iOS. Seems to be more options for android. This is the only one I found that for sure works. I wanted to use my daughter's old iPod touch 5th gen she put in a drawer after getting an iPhone. 5th gen doesn't have GPS so if you want to see speed you can't get it with this hardware setup. So I tested it on my iPhone. Oddly, I found It won't imprint real time data on the video so it's odd it shows speed (you can switch kph to mph just by touching the read out) in real time. So that is clearly an omission - the developer should make that option. But hear me out: this app is free full functional; the $0.99 gets you the ability to record 1 minute segments rather than the minimum of 3 minutes per segment in the free version. It also gets you cloud storage but the Russian text leaves me dubious any uploaded data is really private or safe so big deal I don't use it - and couldn't anyway with the repurposed iPod touch- it's not a cell phone. I bought a dash suction cup mount with alligator clip like grippers, for $7.99 at TJMaxx. Works fine. I don't leave the iPod in the car due to heat and invitation to break-ins. Each video segment saves in app, easily viewable and can be saved to camera roll. If I want a picture of one frame I just do a screen shot. You can set the max memory of these video segments the app uses and you can tell it to loop- meaning when it hits max memory you allocated in the settings, it just erases older videos so it keeps recording. I find NO gap between last frame of each video segment and first frame of each immediately following video segment and to me that is the huge gem here for this app. Even my older repurposed hardware still will record 1080p and you can choose whether it records audio or not. You can downgrade video quality but to me that's dumb- you want max resolution. Screen shot WILL capture legible license plate of car in front of me. It has only crashed a couple times while saving a video and I think it's an older hardware memory management issue. I've manually turned it on and had it record the drive to and from work for a couple weeks now. It has never failed to record. It works exactly as I'm describing. If you want to see what a dash Cam is like but don't want to buy one- if you have an old smart phone or iPod by all means you should give this a try - hard to argue with free (or $0.99). Some other reviewers complain this app has flaws and I've noted above some, but fundamentally it records video segments without issue. Period. What more really is there to a dash Cam? I say kudos to this developer.
