Wasn't the world more beautiful in 16 colours? Camera C64 will take you back to the eighties, when the Commodore 64 ruled the world of 8-bit micro computers!
Camera C64 will let you capture pictures that look exactly like the digitised photos you could see on the Commodore 64, with a real-time preview of the result.
First, it will use the exact same idiosyncratic palette that was used by the C64's VIC-II video chip, and map the real-world colours to this palette.
Then it will decrease the resolution to 320x200 pixels, which was the original resolution of the C64.
It will also apply a very realistic dithering effect, which was used to alleviate the lack of realistic colours in the C64 palette.
And Camera C64 will let you view in REAL TIME exactly what the result will look like. No need to wait for the effect to be applied! What you see is exactly what you get.
Optionally, you can purchase a set of additional filters that emulate black & white TV, amber and green monitors.
Snap a picture, save it to your photo album, and enjoy the memories!

This WAS the PERFECT app for those that have ever wondered what they would look like in Commodore 64 8-bit graphics! I compared the color palette to those on my actual C64 and to my eyes they are perfect! Pixelation and dithering to C64 resolution is great! Photos are taken in real time! What you see is what you get! GREAT JOB! PURE COMMODORE BLISS! NO LONGER WORKING. RIP ?

Revised review: Looks even better after the update, must make sure the app is turned on under privacy/photo album section for iOS 6 in order tosave pic to camera roll/photo album. Also the scan line effect is cool, but does not look the same in actual pic taken (needs work); works when you snap screen cap. Please add landscape mode and front camera option.

Very poor picture quality. Can't use front camera on iPad only the rear camera. I am deleting as soon as I finish this review.

Crashes all the time. I liked what I see, but I couldn't save anything, the program constantly crashed.
