Disabled the tape feature unless I pay more!

Lmtywit

I bought the app a few years ago that came with the tape feature, and now it has been taken away in an upgrade and I will have to pay again to get it back. Boooooo. If you don’t mind feeding them a “fee” for every new iOS, I would buy something else.

Great on Apple Watch ...

This is a really great Apple Watch calculator, love the automatic result without the need for a = button, and the conversion + tips calc modes. But would be better if one could select % and splits without an additional screen opening. Then you could change them in real time with the crown (like in the PCalc Apple Watch app) On iOS it’s just ok, but I like that I can select the conversion units I need, so I don’t have to scroll through every possible units out there. Also it really needs a complete dark mode. Now the paper strip and quick menu options are glaring white against any of the dark themes :(

This was my go to app for tips and quick calcs on my watch. But they’ve made it so you have to pay to unlock anything beyond basic calculator. My phone has that for free already... so dumb.

Removed features from paid app

luky22

It's never acceptable to remove features that were paid for previously and not a good practice.

Form and function S+

FreekieGeekie

Superior form and function. This should be the baseline for app development.

horrible update

Billyb209

this should be illegal. you do not disable functions previously working for years and force users to pay for them. it’s not an update, its ransom. preserve your dignity and add back the history feature on next update. until then i will delete the app.

Not able to try it

rolyat57

Download this app a few weeks ago to give it a try, but found that unless I pay for the pro version I don’t even have the option of trying it out. Reading the reviews again tonight, I feel like I’m justified in just deleting the app.

Theif!

Updated the app and they took away functions in order to attempt to make you buy an upgrade to restore same functions it already had! An upgrade is an upgrade not a hostage situation. I will not support your bad decisions.

As a teacher of alternative education in Eau Claire, WI. . .

I use this Calculator daily, to show and assist struggling students with math problems, so they can “see” the equation in real time with the changing answer, assisting some to overcome a commonly believed, “math-phobia, which many people suffer.” We can see equations and go back and look at the scroll of numbers. This would be good for anyone who kept a tally for auditing, banking, or any other such enterprise. It costs a little but it seems worth it.

Thanks for taking away features that I already paid for

rotopenguin

I bought Calcbot. They issued an update that “improved” it by taking away features and making them a paid DLC. If you want to make a paid 2.0 upgrade, fine. Do it as a separate app. Don’t do it by overwriting my 1.0.
