Immersive and Engaging

Cooper Welch

As videogame graphics continue to advance, I’m always amazed at how compelling text can be as an interactive storytelling medium. Buried is a refreshing and engaging interactive narrative experience that is extremely well-crafted - a reminder that simple text-based adventures can be just as powerful as other more graphically-intensive games. I was easily pulled into the world of Buried and found myself eager to keep reading and uncover the truths behind Buried’s mysteries. The plot and dialog are interesting and well-written, and the background images compliment the story nicely. The game’s interface is very well-done…blocks of text fade in and automatically scroll at a good pace to keep things moving along (you can also manually scroll if you feel like it), and the text itself is easy to read. I was also really impressed with the audio design - the game has some great ambient sound tracks that heighten the mood and make the experience even more immersive. If you’re a fan of narratives or interactive fiction, I highly recommend Buried!

Super addicting and lots of fun. Unique and love the graphics and sounds that go along with the story.

Couldn't put it down

MetroGamerFan

I played this game on a cross country flight and could not put the thing down. Lots of great twists and turns to keep you engaged, and the story develops pretty beautifully from a normal horror scenario into something much, much more. If you love a good story, this is where you should start.

One of the few games I call great

Shadowmaker108

Look there are people who think they have played a good game. They all lie, there is almost no other game that has made me feel like this. It makes you regret, sad, scared, happy, entertained, and plain up joyous. This game is so worth the 3 dollars. It took me 3 hours to finish one story line. Truthfully I just had one problem with my ending. They could have had such a stronger ending for some. They could at least added a love interest into a fraction of the endings but go buy it and play it. Imagine the scenes yourself and you will feel scared and anxious by the end but that's why it's a great game. It makes you feel things that aren't just frustration and entertainment. But it play it cry over it, This is a game worth everything it is for. Please buy this game.

Very good

Very well told story. Plenty of action, suspense, and curiosity to keep you reading on. Would definitely recommend reading.

Captivating Adventure Game

"Buried" proved to be a really clever new take on the 'choose your own adventure' genre that was equally hard to put down! You never know what each choice will lead to next!

Remarkable

Due to the price of this title, I truly wasn't expecting much. What I found was a story that rivals most bestsellers. If you are a fan of Jonathan Maberry's Joe Ledger novels, or the works of H.P. Lovecraft, you MUST give Buried a try!

Incredibly accessible horror game

Kasey Alexandra M

It starts out slow, setting the scene and characters. But sticking with it is worth it, as the mystery begins to unfold and you're thinking, what the hell is going on here. And you really want to find out. I love the standard branching narrative features, like advising you when a decision is important and telling you at the end of the chapter how you compare to other players. The best part though, is that it is all text. I HATE HATE HATE horror in general, but the lack of graphics and jump scares makes this incredibly accessible! It still sets a creepy tone, but a creepy tone I can definitely handle. Excited to finish the rest of the chapters!

A+ experience

I'm loving this. It's so immersive I can't put it down. Does a great job of making you feel like you're there and that your choices matter. I don't even need headphones to get the effect. Finished it. Story was awesome. But I actually intend to rerun the story making some better (or worse) decisions.

Just Okay.

PtrBreen12

You're the boss on a logging job, with no first aid training, on a site made available by a nonsensical bureaucratic hiccup, surveilled by cameras that can't see your face. Upon finding a comrade being killed, you have the choice to save her life, or ask the attacker a question. These are examples of very rare aberrations of logic, but the app and the story are just okay.
