This is how it works: you take a photo of a pile of Lego bricks spread out on the table, the neuronet identifies them and then the application suggests the sets you can build with the bricks you already have. If the suggested set is complicated enough BrickCatalog will also show you the instructions.
The neuronet doesn’t work perfectly yet but it is still quite good. If it makes a mistake you can always help it in the manual mode. Of course every time you do so you educate the net and see it get smarter by the hour. The quality of identification improves every time you use it.
BrickCatalog can process several dozens of bricks at a time. If you have a lot of Legos it will take you some time to create your catalog – on average it takes 3 hours per kilo. But this process is meditative and absorbing enough – a great way to relax after the working day.
The net doesn’t work with the colors yet, because it would make it even more difficult to find a set.
The application already knows about 4000 different bricks and 13 000 sets – it’s not everything yet but pretty much close to it. There are even some old sets from the 90’s to fill you with nostalgia. We also closely follow new releases and add them to the app.
We came up with this idea not so long ago and have just launched it. We want to be friends and would really appreciate your feedback – so please, write to us!
