But with the latest update the app just randomly turns off while I’m listening to something - it’s completely random as to when/how often, etc.

Update: I still love Breaker. Everything I said remains true. I've been so happy with the listening experience on Breaker. Best app I've used for podcasts. And when there have been occasional bugs, they've been fixed promptly and with consistent updates on the issues through social media and/or email. Really impressed with their crew.

The app is so beautiful. Everything about it is near perfect. Except that is crashes constantly. The most important function of a podcast app is the ability to listen to podcasts, and right now this app is failing. I'm confident they will fix the crashing issues though; when they do I'll update my review.

It looks great, works wonderfully and allows me to share with friends that are on non iOS yes we have those friends. Thanks for making this app

Having used Downcast for many years, I'd become frustrated with some longstanding bugs that hindered its UX. I heard some good things about Breaker and thought it worthwhile to give it a try. I love the "hands-off" approach to downloading - just specify a space allocation, and the app ensures you have roughly the number of podcasts to fill it. No more running out of podcasts before a flight or train ride! The home screen shows a queue of recent episodes for my subscriptions and allows me to easily swipe to remove. This makes filtering my list for listening a breeze! Social features are a component that most other apps neglect entirely. I’ve found it fun to share podcasts with friends and family, and being able to see and share my listening history is great. Overall, Breaker is definitely the best podcast app I’ve used. Give it a try!

I’ve spent years bouncing between Podcast Addict, iTunes Podcast, and Soundcloud to have access to and manage dozens of subscriptions. Breaker has eliminated the need for multiple apps. It has also been a huge time-saver by allowing me to import all of my previous subscriptions from other apps, creating a streamlined and customizable playlist I rarely have to touch, and the wonderful skip silences feature! Last but definitely not least, the social aspect of Breaker is second to none. No other app offers the same level of user-to-user engagement. Don’t believe me? Then download it and send me a message telling me I’m wrong ;)

Switched to Breaker about 6 months ago. It’s been an much more engaging way of listening to postcards. Give it a shot!

I use this literally every day. Breaker sends out weekly recap emails, and I consistently listen to podcasts on this app at least 14 hours a week. It’s easy to use, and great for discovering new podcasts that you may not have heard about before. Highly recommend!

Updating my review following recent improvements. First of all, the issue I had with my battery being consumed by short uses of Breaker seems to be resolved, and now I’ve been using it on my commute every day without worry. The discovery feature is pretty good, and I’ve already found a few podcasts I might not have otherwise. The UI is also much improved and feels more like a native app. Breaker is going to be my podcast app of choice now!
