Best app of its kind
HTJax

As someone who loves to read and collect books, I often found myself in a dusty old bookstore trying to remember if I own the book that I’m holding in my hand. Or worse, getting home with my prized new book only to find a copy already in my library. Book Crawler has solved that problem. It’s easy to use and I’ve learned to customize the database to fit my specific needs. This is the perfect app for a book collector.

The app misbehaves under ios 13: a) database storage errors with Dropbox; b) appending superfluous data unrelated to an entered book. The app needs to be retested. It was a 4-5 star app several years ago. There's no provided email address for contacting the listed developer

Janelle Hyatt: this is a lifesaver

I’ve used the Book Crawler app since 2011. It really beats a notebook. I buy books that look interesting everything, including thrift stores, and I found I was buying duplicates. That was my initial intro to Book Crawler. And it’s been with me ever since.

Wonderful App!

Book Crawler is making it so easy to catalogue my bosses books! I want to do my own now, thank you!

Good database tool, horrible help.

I’ve used this app for several years, and as a book inventory app, it’s very good. The help function, though, is a joke. Someone needed to spend some serious time and effort and provide detailed help. For ex, can I add a photo of an author if the system can’t provide one? I wouldn’t know. No help there that I could find anywhere.. And the app doesn’t appear to be able to automatically sync between devices, say an iPhone and iPad. No help there that I can find. Also, the product doesn’t appear to have been updated in a year. Zero bugs? Have we been abandoned?

Clunky Waste of Time
Thnxbutnothnx

I’m using a new IPhone 11 and the Scanner rarely works. Reads incorrectly when it does. Automatically retrieving data on Classics is a hit and miss so prepare to manually enter darn near everything. It’s nearly impossible to keep track of what has been successfully scanned/loaded and hasn’t as the app seems to temporarily (maybe permanently) mix up your covers and ISBNs, sending your labor of love into no-man’s land while you twiddle your thumbs and hope it finds its way back from the black hole that inhaled it like a veracious beast, and all this hopefully before you meet your Maker! Waste of money!

iCloud synchronization?
MoBoost

Update: Found another app with all of the right features, plus clean backup and syncing among devices. This, plus recent issues with Book Crawler acting squirrelly means I’m moving on. I’m a long time user of Book Crawler and appreciate how well it works cataloging my collection. It does need iCloud syncing so that my library is available on multiple devices, with the images. The clunky csv export/import process is not sufficient.

It appears that this app is nonfunctional as of this year-2020. There is no support nor any way to reach the developer.

Not functioning
jesdakota

I like this app in theory but it crashes every two seconds and the scanner only focuses every fifth or so time I try to use it. Regret paying for the full version.

Too many glitches
lovemybooks2015

This app is hard to use and don’t get me started on the bar code scanner.
