How Subscriptions Work:
You may purchase subscriptions to Boating through the in-app store. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions available:
- 1-month subscription for US$1.99, automatically renewed until canceled
- 1-year subscription (10 issues) for US$14.99, automatically renewed until canceled
AUTOMATIC RENEWAL FEATURE:
Your subscription will automatically continue (another month for monthly subscribers, another year for annual subscribers) unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your credit card will automatically be charged for another subscription period at the current subscription price. You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your iTunes Account Settings after purchase. Subscriptions cannot be canceled during the active subscription period. Instructions to setup your access using your hardcopy subscription account number are terrible. Instructions say account number can be found on the mailing label. The label has lots of numbers and symbols, none of which is identified as an account number. Gave up.
I can never get my issues and need to renter subscription information again ever time I use it.
This app is not intuitive whatsoever. The new version is keeping me from being able to access new issues, even though it shows me logged in to my account.
I've enjoyed this digital magazine for several years now. Last night I paid for the new Boaters DIY Guide ($5.99) which appeared to download. Not really. Now I can't even get the app to open. Even after a reset of my iPad. No guide, and no magazines. Beware of buying the DIY Guide. It is likely to screw up the entire functionality of the Boating App. Now what am I supposed to do? What a waste.
Potentially good app, however, an annual subscription to the print magazine DOES NOT include a digital subscription. I fell like folks at Bonnier Corp are just trying to make a few extra bucks on their faithful print customers…Bad business!
The digital subscription is $14.99, but the print subscription is only $10?? That does not make much sense.
As a long print subscriber, I'm ticked I cannot get free iPad version. I'll rethink my renewal.
