A blood test is a laboratory analysis performed on a blood sample that is usually extracted from a vein in the arm using a needle, or via fingerprick.

Reference ranges for blood tests are sets of values used by a health professional to interpret a set of medical test results from blood samples.

A basic metabolic panel measures sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), magnesium, creatinine, and glucose. It also sometimes includes calcium.
Some blood tests, such as those that measure glucose, cholesterol, or for determining the existence or lack of STD, require fasting (or no food consumption) eight to twelve hours prior to the drawing of the blood sample.

For me, videos are time consuming. I prefer text messages, text presentations and articles. The app dies not provide a choice. So far, this is my only complaint and i am still looking for a better app that will service my needs.

Useful app that can be improved further
Sid1234567890

This is an useful app that serves as a reference - I would love to see a feature where I am able to upload my reports and see only the details of relevant parameters. Additionally if it keeps track of my records over a period of time, it would be perfect!

Updated version is useless!
M60C

I loved the old version of this app. The updated version doesn’t show half the information and it freezes and closes the app. I’m deleting and will find another.

Better than expected
healthynut

Some other free apps (e.g. MDezLabs) are more comprehensive, but this app is great for the most common causes of the most common abnormal lab tests.

Simple to understand
ddbrann

This app is easy to use & simple to understand. I've shared it with my doctors & nurses who thought it would be helpful for patients.

Great app!

Simplified to a fault

Some data are inaccurate. Clinical information is so incomplete as to be misleading. DO NOT DO ANYTHING BASED SOLELY ON WHAT YOU READ HERE! Take their advice seriously and discuss results with your health care provider.

Good

iPad version is bad
AbzK

This app was designed for iPhone, and it found it's way to the iPad with no change except magnifying the size of everything. Text and icons are so large that I had to distance my iPad to be able to look at it. The language used is not layman friendly, with lots of medical jargon (copy/past from text books or something) Some of the tests have reference range that are invented for sure. Glucose reference ranges are an example of loads of ignorance to what science tells us. Where did they come up with these reference ranges is unknown. Bottom line: minimally useful app, designed for iPhone not iPad, not layman friendly, with inaccurate information.
