Potential is huge

Derek......

Real time augmented reality visual search. Current capabilities and intelligence are modest but it will be exciting to watch this product mature.

Horrible, glitchy, worthless app

ByYannick

The app is awful and can't read simple images. I have used 3 other similar apps and this one is by far the worst. Don't waste your time.

Hilariously bad at its job

This app is cool, but it's really bad at recognizing what things are. It thought my Axe deodorant was a shoe. My trash can was a paper cup. Potential, but needs way better recognition

You can still get a valuable surprise from a Crackerjack package

I love the concept of this app, although it doesn't always deliver. When it does, it is just terrific. I pointed my iPad at my dog; it identified him correctly as a border collie. When I tapped the border collie icon it gave me links to a lot of information about the breed, to training videos, to videos showing border collie tricks and to border collie-related topics. Maybe the best thing about this app is that it came as the prize in a crackerjack package. You can still get something of value from crackerjack!

Freezes!

When I enter a blipp code to test a custom blipp, the app freezes on me! Help!!

Pointless

ModernFellow

It has yet to recognize anything I've pointed it at. I downloaded based on a news article showing the facial recognition feature. I pointed it at a picture of Obama to try it out and it matched "Windsor knot" because Obama had a tie on in the picture. Dumb.

Doesn't blipp

2112BananaHanna

I try to blipp something and it won't blipp anything that can be blipped

An interesting techno toy

This app was able to recognize many things I pointed it at. I tried it on fruit, household products, appliances, paintings, etc. and it was able to make sense of many of them with a good deal of accuracy. It seems particularly adept at recognizing brand logos. That said, I don't quite get what the use case for it is. I gather that some objects have been associated with augmented reality, but for 99% of the things you will scan it will tell you nothing you don't already know. This seems like a neat utility for marketing tie-ins, but not all that helpful for daily life. If you encounter something you can't recognize or identify for yourself, chances are that it is too obscure for the app to recognize either.

Trouble recognizing objects

RaG And tAg

Was excited to try if after reading the article on it. Tried blipping, it sort of worked on some things, but not so much on others. It recognized I had a tv and entertainment center, but then said I had an ATM in my house. I Wish!!

Interesting, but virtually useless.

Dr.Sentovina

There is virtually no need for this app. Furthermore, it does a horrible job with identifying almost anything correctly. I'm sure later versions of this app will keep improving on its accuracy... but from a big-picture perspective, humanity is in big trouble if if people rely on a computerized-identifier, rather than using their brain to investigate/observe/identify/comprehend what an item may be.
