As Blackfeet, we not only love our children but we revere our elders, as well. We look to the older generations to pass down their extensive bodies of traditional knowledge. This traditional knowledge was preserved in the minds, spirit, and heart of the Amskapi Pikuni and it is important to remember that was passed down in the language given to them at the beginning of time. Blackfeet Community College embodies this wisdom and incorporates indigenous knowledge in the modern education of our Native scholars.
Congratulations to all involved on developing this product. The language of the Amsskaapipikani on my iPad . . . Awesome!!!
The sound on the app is very low and sometimes I can't hear it at all. I run the app on a iPod touch. I even tried to plug some speakers into the iPod to make it louder and there was no sound at all. Awesome idea but needs a little tweaking.
I was amazed to see that there was an App for our Tribe; but as far as how the app functioned, the sound did not play at all. I also felt that there should be much more information included and perhaps videos with history and etc. It was a nice effort but please update.
It would've been a lot better if the text actually showed. Today, the Blackfeet language is probably not spoken orally completely. Also, I personally thought there was not enough much extensive vocabulary. There weren't simple greetings or anything. However, my sound audio was perfectly fine. I was a little disappointed. Hopefully, this app would come out with a 2.0 version.
This is a great app for learning the language. I especially like that it gets repeated 3 times. I would like to see the written word along with hearing it. I think I would be able to remember better that way.
I was so excited to find this app and quickly disappointed. The sound didn't play at all on my iPhone. As there is no translated text to go with the words in English, the app was useless. :(
